After the doctor's appointment, I got in my car and responded to Angeline's text from earlier.

I decided one of the first people I was going to tell was my parents. I come from a pretty strict family. My parents always expected me to get married first and then have a child so I know they're not going to be happy when I tell them the news.
I arrived at my parent's house and knocked on the door. I heard footsteps coming down the steps and my mom opened the door.
"Sophia! It's so good to see you, love!" my mom said as she gave me a big hug.
"Good to see you too, mama. Where's papa?"
"He's in the living room, dear."
"Okay good, I need to talk to you guys."
"Of course. Is everything alright?"
"I'm not sure. Let's go." I walked in the living room and saw my dad coincidentally watching basketball on TV. Luckily, it was just the Summer League and the Lakers weren't playing.
