Tori's POV

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

It was Valentine's Day and considering I was single, I was sticking with tradition and spending it with Amber and Dani. We were all currently at brunch, but Amber seemed to be in a world of her own. As she had been silent almost the entire time we'd been out.

Once the food came out, we watched as Amber stared into space, not even realizing her plate had been put in front of her. Dani and I gave each other a look before focusing back on Amber.

"Amber." I called her name bringing her back to reality.

"Huh, oh the food here." She replied looking down at her plate, "Can you hand me a fork?" She asked Dani.

"Yea, soon as you tell us what's going on with you." Dani spoke making Amber sigh as she put her head in her hands.

She mumbled something under her breath making Dani and I both lean closer to her, "Huh?" I questioned.

"Don't be whispering girl, you know we can't hear you." Dani stated.

"I lost my cheer scholarship." Amber mumbled loud enough to where we could hear her. We watched as her eyes started to water but she quickly wiped the tears away.

She sighed before continuing "They sent me the email a few days ago, I can't stay in school without it, and I'm not going home. So I been figuring out what I'm gone do."

"Did you try looking for some other scholarships? Maybe you could get a job." I suggested.

"Probably should stop doing drugs too." Dani added before taking a sip of her drink. I lightly popped her under the table as Amber glared at her.

"No I have a plan, it's just not one I'm proud of." Amber spoke with a sigh making us both look at her with confused expressions.

"Well don't leave us hanging, what is it?" Dani asked impatiently.

"I won't say too much since we in public, but I need fast money and sex sells." Amber responded with a shrug.

A silence fell over the table as Amber looked between Dani and me. I was kind of waiting on her to laugh and say she was just kidding, but she never did.

"Damn y'all not gone say nothing?" Amber asked, "I mean...do you want us to try and talk you out of it?" Dani stated.

"No, but y'all don't gotta just sit here looking crazy." Amber said while folding her arms.

"Just be careful is all I can tell you." I told her before passing out the forks so we could all eat. I felt like that was a pretty common way to make money nowadays, especially in Atlanta. It wasn't the route I would take, but at least she was doing it to finish putting herself through school. A lot of these girls out here were just doing it for free or just because.

After leaving the restaurant, we headed to the mall to treat ourselves to some light shopping. I was flipping through a rack of clothes when Amber tapped my shoulder, pointing outside the store.

"That's the weird bitch from Kai and them party?" She asked making me look and seeing Nova in the store across from us.

"Yea it is." I responded starting to look around because I was sure Kai wasn't too far. Sure enough after scanning the store, I saw him sitting away from her on his phone.
