Kai's POV

I hummed to myself as I walked down the stairs, opening my bedroom door to see my bed now empty. I frowned as I looked around the room, putting the food down on the counter. Soon I heard the sound of Tori throwing up in the bathroom. I thought about going in there, but I figured she probably wanted some privacy. When she finally exited the bathroom, she froze at the sight of me.

"Hey." I greeted, "I-um, went to get your car and I got you some breakfast. Dani not here with your stuff yet, but I got extra toothbrushes, and you can wear my shit if you want to shower." I said awkwardly rubbing the back of my head.

"Thanks..." She said preparing to enter my closet, but stopping to turn back towards me, "I'm really sorry Kai." She spoke sadly. I already knew that apology was for a number of things.

"Nah you're good, don't worry about it." I reassured her, not wanting her to feel any worse then she already did.

She nodded, going into the closet to grab some things before going in the bathroom to get herself freshened up. I got to sit down for a couple of minutes before my phone vibrated signaling a text from Dani letting me know she was outside with Tori's things. As I made my way upstairs I saw Duke and Davis in the living room.

"Aye can y'all help me get Tori stuff real quick?" I asked, making them nod and stand to follow me outside.

"Damn, she staying forever or something?" Duke questioned at the sight of all her packed-up belongings.

"I'll explain later." I said as I grabbed one of the boxes from Dani's trunk. Everything had been happening so fast, I hadn't gotten the chance to run anything by anybody. Tori didn't even know she was going to be staying here yet, let alone the rest of the house.

As Duke and Davis were taking the last of her things inside, I remained outside to talk with Dani.

"She doesn't have to stay here; I can make my space work." Dani said for probably the millionth time.

"Nah, it's good, I got her. I appreciate you bringing the stuff though." I replied while giving her a side hug.

"Okay Kai, take care of my friend, and have her call me later." She instructed. We didn't know each other that well so it was reasonable for her to be concerned.

I nodded before watching her pull of and head back in the house. From there I headed into the guest room where all of Tori's belongings now sat.

"Nigga what's going on?" Duke questioned as he and Davis sat in front of me.

"Alright to keep shit simple, Nova basically used Amber to throw this big ass party at the crib Tori was staying at. Shit got crazy, police was there, her boss got called. She got fired. She kinda relapsed and um- I said she could stay here for a little because Dani got a 1 bedroom and 2 dogs...and yea." I trailed off seeing them both stare at me with their mouths wide open.

"Yoo what the fuck, that's crazy." Duke said, "Is she good though?" He continued.

"I mean no, but yea." I replied.

"I hate to ask, but she not like...a liability or nothing right?" Davis asked making me straight face him as Duke popped him upside the head.

"Ow, what! These are valid questions." Davis defended as he held the spot on his head.
