Tori's POV

*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*

I quickly sat upright in the bed at the sound of Kai's screaming and him barging into his room with Chris close behind him. My heart was racing as I watched him run over and use me as a shield, making Chris smack his teeth and lower the water gun he was holding.

"Nigga you scary." Chris said, shaking his head in disappointment

"See bro, I told you to stop. You done woke my girl up." Kai scolded, peeking from around me.

"Don't be mad at me T. Nobody told him to run in here." Chris argued, shaking his head as he turned to exit Kai's room.

Too tired to really say anything, I just shook my head. I had grown rather used to their antics after all this time.

"Morning my baby." Kai said, starting to place kisses all over my face.

"Don't morning me. I was sleeping good." I complained, folding my arms to express my annoyance.

"You mad? I'll get you something to eat."

"Get me what?" I questioned, slightly side eyeing him.

"Whatever you want ma."

"You'll get some food from that brunch place I like?"

"They don't do delivery though."

"So, you said whatever." I retorted, making him hold up his hands in surrender.

"Alright, I'll go get it." He spoke, climbing out of the bed.

"Yayy, love you." I smiled, giving him a quick kiss goodbye as I watched him exit his room.

"Love you too." He called out as he made his way up the stairs.

In the time he was gone I decided to edit a video. After everything that had happened in Miami, I thought it was probably for the best for me to make a video talking about my struggle with addiction and share Amber and I's story. I figured if I was in control of the information than it could be helpful as opposed to if Nova decided to be spiteful and try to have one up on me. I felt like I was making the right move, but that didn't stop me from being terrified of hitting the upload button. I'd already decided to probably just post it and delete my social media apps just to pretend it didn't exist for a little while.

Before I could start overthinking too bad, Kai returned with the food.

"Here go the food, and I stopped and got you this too." He said, handing me the food along with a gift bag.

I furrowed my eyebrows as I opened the bag, revealing a Chanel bag. I gasped as I admired the bag, my eyes darting over to Kai.

"What's this for?" I gushed, feeling my heart start to swell.

"I saw you hit 175k subscribers and wanted to get you a little congratulations gift." He replied nonchalantly.

"You're so sweet Kai. I'm the one that should be getting you a gift." I said, pulling out both of our food so we could start to eat.

"Nah, I don't need no gift. I'm just glad to be in the position to help you achieve greatness."

While his words were admirable, I was already plotting a surprise in my head. "How about I retwist your hair today as temporary thanks."

"It is about that time huh." He responded, running his hands through his dreads.

I simply nodded in response as I took a bite out of my food.

"Alright, you can start after we eat."

There was no more discussion to be had as we ate in a comfortable silence. Within the next hour, he was sitting on the floor in between my legs as I retwisted his hair. The soft hum of music was in the background as he scrolled through his phone. It wasn't too long before Fanum made his way downstairs, likely bored and curious to see what we were doing.

"Oh we doing hair today. I need my hair braided." Fanum joked, making me laugh and Kai smack his teeth.

"Get your own stylist nigga." Kai waved him off before returning to scrolling through your phone.

"That video you posted doing numbers though Tori." Fanum shared, making me glance up at him from Kai's hair.

"I was just looking at that. It's deadass not many negative comments. Like hella people being encouraging and saying this helpful and shit." Kai added on, making a small smile start to form on my face.

"That's nice." I responded trying to keep it short, but deep down I was glad my video was doing what I had intended it to do.

"I swear they like you more than me sometimes." Kai said, making me chuckle.

"Shit they like her more than all of us. Somebody sent something for her to my PO box because they said yours be too full." Fanum spoke, slightly shaking his head.

"What can I say, I'm just real like that." I said with a playful shrug, earning looks from the both of them.

I simply laughed it off and started to zone out of the conversation that carried on between the two after the fact. As the days got on, the more it started to seem like all my fears about being in the media with Kai faded. I was starting to enjoy what I do and worry less and less about all the negative. I was more grateful than anything to see dreams starting to become reality, and I couldn't help but feel a little excited to see what would come next.
