Chapter 41- New Luv

Felix jumped into Hyunjin's arms as soon as he opened the door, stealing at once a long-awaited kiss. His hands slid all over his lover's body as he tried to slide his arms under what looked like a very new shirt and a very pleasant change from the drab wools of his last college. For what felt like an hour, their lips did not part, and Hyunjin's coy arms didn't move an inch from the ass he had missed so much these last few years.

"Woah..," said Hyunjin "You really did miss me, huh?"
"Oh Hyunie..Britain was so cold, I don't think I can ever survive there again. Besides, I had no-one to cuddle with, you see?"
"Oh?"Hyunjin suddenly picked Felix up in his arms, guiding the latter's hand to his chest. "Then you must've missed this too, hmm?"
Felix blushed like a beet and looked away, poking at Hyunie's chest and pouting.

Hyunjin took him to the bedroom and laid him down on his bed.
"Are you in the mood?" he asked. Felix yawned a little and ushered to his suitcases, waiting at the door like five loyal puppies.
"Good. I had a little work, but before that lemme make you some tea."

Hyunjin disappeared into the tiny kitchen. The exhaustion had caught up with Felix, he collapsed onto the bed entirely.

In the two years Felix had spent at Oxbridge, Hyunie had made quite a life for himself. For starters, the apartment was very different from the one they had at the previous college. It had all the homely messiness of their shared dorm, but it felt more mature. Everything smelled like Hyunjin. He could bask in it forever.

"Here's the tea, m'lord. Not too hot, not too cold. Just the way you like it."

"You still have these cups? The otter for you and the chick for me?"

"Bet."

"You're the best, Hyunie, you really are." Felix stifled a light sob. "You know I was scared you would've moved on while I was away.."

"What? How could I? You're my little sunshine, Lixie!"

Another heated kiss followed, till Felix noticed the tea was getting cold.

"So.." Felix began, taking a sip, "Why'd you move so suddenly? I was pretty surprised when you told me about the new addy. I had my mind set on our parents' homes or at least somewhere near the old city where we had our prev college."

Hyunjin fell silent for a bit. His face darkened and his eyes turned emotionless for a split second. Felix probably did not catch it, because he prodded further.

"I was kinda looking forward to seeing everyone. But I guess I will in time. I made a buncha friends at Oxbridge.."

Hyunjin just nodded along. He knew Felix loved to talk, but something weighed him down.

"At my dorm there, I had friends over practically every night. They were so lively. Apparently Heartstopper is the new craze in England. My gayass landed at the right time. Otherwise, I'm kinda sure it woulda been worse!"

"Um-" Hyunjin interrupted, "Don't you feel a little sleepy, Lix? You've travelled a lot. I really think you need some rest."

"Sleepy? Hell nah. I'm with my boyfriend after 2 years! I want to do so much with you right at this instant. I saw a lot of pretty places in this city on the way here... please Hyunie let's go check them out.. It's been so long since I've been with you!"

Hyunjin knew there was no escaping this, and the pout and big doe eyes finally sealed the deal.

In a matter of seconds, the boys were in their summer fits up and about the city. The prickly heat didn't stand a chance against their pure joy of being reunited. It's like the whole city was full of hearts and music and culture. Every place they went, Felix mapped up where they could enjoy a moment of privacy.

In the buses, when they sat next to each other, not holding hands in fear, the brush of Hyunjin's skin against his bloomed flowers that had long since been lost in the garden of his mind. It was a new life.
The ice-cream in the amusement park was okay in itself, but sharing it with Hyunie made it seem creamier. The rides were nothing new, but every moment with Hyunjin felt like a new gift from the universe. The fish swam in tedious circles in the aquariums, but even they seemed happy to see the couple. They roamed the city, finding new life in everything they saw.

It was eight at night when they returned to Hyunjin's apartment.

Felix brushed his shoes off and threw his shirt away. God, this heat. This heat was such a welcome change.

"Wash your face at least, mi amor." Hyunjin's voice resonated from the bathroom.

"Pfft." Felix threw himself on the bed.

"I can't really kiss you if you got germs on your lips!"

"FIIIIIIINE."

When Felix was done washing himself, he found Hyunjin sitting quietly on the bed, facing the wall.

"You 'kay?"
"M'kay." Hyunjin copied his boyfriend's accent

Felix lay his head on the pillow and stared at the ceiling. Hyunjin kept his eyes on the wall. This shared moment of silence, this was love.

"I love you Jinnie. I can never get enough of telling you that."

"Mhm."

"You're really not okay."

Silence.

"If something's bothering you, you can always tell me, babe."
Hyunjin shook his head. His black locks swiftly swerving from side to side.

"Anyway, how was life at Oxbridge?"

"It was fun, Jinnie. But it was incomplete without you.."

"That makes me sad. I'd want you to have fun with or without me." Hyunjin let out a little laugh mid-sentence, but there was an edge to it that didn't escape Felix's notice. Did he imagine it?

" Don't be sad! I already told you I had friends over almost every night there..hehe.. And don't worry either, they were all girls who desperately wanted a gay best friend, and I was more than happy to comply."

He pulled up pictures of them on his phone. "These girls were from Northern Ireland, Derry, if I'm not wrong, visiting that city for some reason during my last few days. One of them was even lesbian, or a "wee lesbian" as she called herself. They were so fun, see.."

Hyunjin laughed a lot listening to Feliix's funny little descriptions, but his eyes stayed sad.

"Okay now you really have to tell me what's bothering you."

"Its nothing, really-"

"Just spit it out. Whatever it is. Please. You're clearly hurting."

"I don't think you need to worry so much, love."

"Fine, I'll call up the others and we can all be here for you. I'm sure Miyeon will be of help."

At this, Hyunjin gave such a look of immeasurable sadness to Felix that the latter immediately shot out to hug him.

"Oh gosh..are they all..okay?"
"No, Felix. I escaped. I couldn't take it anymore. Everyone's scattered now. I can't reach anyone. And-"

"And? Gosh, Jinnie, you've...you've been going through so much and I never had the decency to ask you.."

"And Jisung killed himself."
