Chapter 20.5- Forever is not enough

"Felix? You should come out now really, locking yourself in won't help.."

Hyunjin heard nothing from Felix's room.

Ever since he'd returned from Minho's dorm that day, Felix had holed himself up inside his room.

He'd not come out for anything while Hyunjin was around. He didn't know what to make of it. He only came out when Hyunjin left for classes, he knew cuz he'd found the bathroom tap running when he'd returned that afternoon.

"Felix, you're gonna drive me crazy with this! Stop being a child!"

No reply. Hyunjin knocked hard again on Felix's door.

"I'm gonna kill Minho when I see him next if he's the one who's making you do this."

It'd been a long day of classes. Hyunjin felt kinda irritated with Felix's behaviour. It was less of an annoyance, but more of a worry.

Suddenly he had an idea.

"Felix, Changbin called. I'll visit his dorm once to look into the project."

He walked upto the door, making sure to hit the floor so Felix could pick up on the sound.

He unlocked the latch, turned the knob and pretended to open the door.

"Oh and-", Hyunjin pretended to return," I've left rice cakes on the table, from that shop you really like! Its fine. I'll eat then by myself when I come back."

He pretended to close the door behind him.

Immediately the knob to Felix's door turned, and the little blonde peered out of the door.

"There you are!", Hyunjin pounced upon the smaller boy and grappled him.

"Hyunjin! You tricked me! How could you?"

"You know you can't go on like this, Felix. Now sit at the table. No more room for you. The rice cakes are getting cold."

Hyunjin brushed his hand through his pretty blonde hair. It was soft like dog fur. He hadn't shampooed in a while, he could tell, but his hair was as smooth as ever.

Yes, this is the boy I love, Hyunjin smiled to himself.

Felix pouted and grimaced, but accepted defeat.

Hyunjin could see Felix didn't feel like talking.

"Here, come. If you won't eat, I'll feed you."

He picked up a rice cake and ,"say Aaaa. The rice cakie is lonely for Lixie."

Felix turned his face the other way and puffed his cheeks.

Hyunjin poked his cheek with the rice cake. "How cute.", he thought to himself.

"Felix. Look. Eat. I dong know what you think you're doing but your stomach doesn't need to be punished c'mon."

As if it had heard him, Felix's stomach grumbled at the right time.

Felix turned red from ear to ear as Hyunjin giggled into the air. He finally opened his mouth and Hyunjin pushed a bit of the cake in.

" You're such a cutie when you're angry. You should get angry more often."

Hyunjin lay his head on his palm and watched the boy chew. There was an immense, unspeakable sadness in his eyes. Felix couldn't put it to words. It flowed through him like a river with a million mouths.

Hyunjin wanted to kiss his pain away.

"You know Felix, when we were kids, you were exactly like this. Anything bad happened and you'd go straight to your room and lock yourself in. God knows what you did in there. But you'd come out right when you thought no-one noticed. But I did notice, Felix. You're still that kid to me. I just..."

No. Now is not the time. Control Hyunjin, Control.

He pushed another rice cake into Felix's mouth when he was done chewing.

"Felix..I may not be the most popular friend you have, or the best, or as talented as Minho, but I feel like I'm lost without you. You have so many friends, and here I only have you. You're so special you fill up the space a million friends can take up."

Felix's eyes opened wide. A little tear perched on his brown pools. He looked up at Hyunjin.

"I don't know what's bothering you.. but I'm sure you're the same to Minho. I'm sure you're a huge part of him too. He used to be with you all the time, I almost started thinking he's my roommate last year."

Hyunjin placed a hand on Felix's hand.

"Whatever happens, please don't shut yourself out. You have made other people in your life happy, that is more than enough for you to be worth happiness yourself."

Felix's eyes searched Hyunjins' for something. Hyunjin averted his gaze. He wasn't sure, he was scared of Felix finding out.

Hyunjin couldn't help it. He wanted to say it.

I love you, Felix! I loved you since we were ten! I can't imagine a life without you! You're all I fucking have and even when I have others, you'll be everything to me forever- even forever seems too short a time to spend with you!

Love me, Felix! Fuck Minho, he doesn't even care to spend the night with you! He doesn't even spend time with you anymore, you think I haven't noticed how he's been avoiding you?

The silence grew in the room like a large balloon.

"Felix, I know I'm not the best-"

"Enough!", Felix suddenly spoke up, flinging his tears away with a swift movement of the head.

"Wha- what?", had Hyunjin crossed the line?

Felix pushed his chair aside, moving himself away from the table, got up, stepped closer to a baffled Hyunjin and kissed him on the lips.
