Carmen was the first person Alana saw when she woke up. "And this is from your skinny pale friend, Demetri." Alana chuckled at what she said and smiled when she saw a comic book. "And that basket it from the LaRussos" she mentioned to the girl.
"Where's-" she said, her voice cracking, Carmen shook her head, "What mija?" "Where's Sensei?" Alana asked, making Carmen go silent.

Alana was now sat up talking with Carmen, who was doing her hair when they heard a voice. "Lani?" they look to see a smiling Miguel at the door. "Hi," she giggled at the boy.
Miguel smiled and sat next to her on the bed. "How're you feeling?" He asked softly as he put a hand on her arm, "I'm just happy they let me brush my teeth." She said with a slight smile, the Diaz' laugh with her.

"You're progressing nicely. How does this feel?" The doctor asked as he bent Alana's arm back and forth. "Yeah, Fine." She mumbled. The doctor started rubbing her hand. "What about this?" He asked. "Normal." She replied.
"So you're going to be staying with us while you're recovering, We made space in Miggys room." Carmen said as she was feeding Alana. The girl smiled and nodded, "thank you"
The doctor grabbed her leg before grabbing her foot and rotating it. "How about this?" Alana stopped, "No," She replied sadly. Miguel grabbed her hand "How about this?" The doctor asked, poking her toe with his pen. "No." She replied again. "That's...that's ok." The doctor said.
"what now. Will I be fine?" alana asked. "We're gonna take it one step at a time. Ms. Diaz, can I talk to you outside?" The doctor asked. Carmen nodded and left the room with the doctor. Once the door was closed, the two sat in silence.
"Lani.." miguel said quietly making the girl turn to look at him. "I've been staying at your place and.." he stopped and looked up at her, she smiled and nodded, "I found the letter. That you wanted to give me. I know how you feel. And I feel the exact way." he said holding her hand, "I know, i heard you." She softly said making him smile. "Mig, i wanted to tell you but, i guess i was scared." She said looking down.
"Lani, you're my best friend, and I really like you, hell. I'm in love with you." He said as he placed his hand on her cheek. "i'm in love with you too." she smiled at him. Miguel's eyes went down to her lips before going back up to her eyes, Alana smiled and nodded.
Miguel leaned and connected their lips. One of her hands on his cheek and the other sitting on his shoulder. Miguel had one hand on her cheek and another on her neck. Alana felt to happy, the moment she's been dreaming of is finally happening. Miguel on the other hand felt relaxed, it wasn't like Sam or Tory, but neither was she at that.
They smiled into the kiss as they kissed for what it felt like forever. The two let go after seconds and laughed, Miguel laying down next to her as they talked.

It was later that day when Johnny came into the room to see Alana. alana groaned at the food that they gave her so Miguel was at the vending machines getting them some snacks.
"Hey," Johnny said making Alana look at him. "Hey." she said back, "I, uh.. Keep having to sneak in here. I kept it from last time i was here." He said, showing her his hospital bracelet. "what happened to your face?" she asked, "I got in a fight with a paper towel dispenser. And a couple of dudes at a chop shop. You got rid of that neck brace, that's good. I always thought headgear was for nerds." He said to her, "The doctor told Carmen i might not be able to walk again." She said, tilting her head a bit.
"what? no. They can't know that. Nah, they don't know how strong you are." He said, she shook her head, "Sensei, I did what you taught me. After my fight with Tory and Sam.. I went to the guys, And Mig... He was gonna do something that he would regret, so i stopped him, made him show mercy. Why did this happen to me?" she said, tears slowly forming, "I don't know." Johnny said.
"You don't know? I trusted you. I did everything that you told me." she started with, "Alana.. I-"
"Look at me." she said to him. Johnny immediately did. She looked down as tears fell, "get out of here.." she said in a quiet voice. "Alana, you can't-" "Just get out of here!" she shouted at him, "Please." she pleaded with her voice cracking. "just leave." she sobbed out.
After he left she put her hand on her mouth and started sobbing quietly. "Hey Lani, I just saw Sensei-" Miguel cut himself off when he saw Alana crying. He put the snacks on the chair and immediately went to her and sat on the bed and pulled her into his chest.
he was rubbing her arms up and held her tight as she just cried into his chest.
