Alina's POV:

When I woke up, it was still dark out. 

When I woke up, I was in Aleksander's bed.

His bed.

And even though we didn't do anything more than sleeping last night, I still felt guilty.

I was supposed to go visit my friends in the dungeons. I was supposed to see Nikolai. And Mal.

But no, I made a mistake and woke Aleksander up, probably making him think that I wanted to sleep with him. 

Now he probably thinks- no, I don't even want to go there.

I stare at Aleksander sleeping. He looks so peaceful, which is unusual considering half the time he looks like an evil maniac. 

His hair is all over the place, which is kinda cute. He has a dreamy smile on his face. 

I wonder what he's smiling about.

I think about getting out of bed, but that might wake Aleksander up, and I couldn't bear another conversation with him, because I knew it would get awkward. 

I sigh when I realize I'm going to have to tell Genya why I didn't go to the dungeons last night.

Augh- that's going to be so embarassing.

I stare at the ceiling, trying to go back to sleep, but I can't. It's probably about 4 in the morning right now.

Maybe I can go to the dungeons now- before Aleksander wakes up. 

I quietly slip out of bed, but the bed creaks when I get up.

Why does Aleksander's room creak so much!?

"Alina?" He says groggily, his eyes still closed.

"Yes?" I say, unsure of what to do now.

How do I keep getting in these situations!? Why can't I just sneak out, ONE TIME!?

"Where are you going?" 

"Uh- bathroom." 

"What time is it?"

"4:47"

Aleksander groans. "Why are you up so early?" 

"I told you. Bathroom."

Aleksander mumbles something inaudible, and I walk to our shared bathroom.

I wash my hands and comb through my hair lightly, not as big of a mess as I thought it was going to be. 

I wish I could stay in the bathroom forever, but I relectantly go back and sit down on his bed. 

"Are you not tired?" Aleksander says, the sound muffled by the pillow.

"Not really. I don't think I can fall asleep again." 

"Can you lie down?" He says, and I sink under the covers. He scoots a bit closer and rests his head on my chest. 

"Oh-" I'm taken by surprise, "What are you doing?"

"Cuddling with my fiancée."

"I swear, if someone walks in I'm going to scream." I say, playing with his hair. 

"Why, because you're enjoying this?" Aleksander teases.

"No- it's because I'm literally cuddling with my enemy, and I hear the maid's conversations. Gossip gets around fast." 

"The servants are allowed outside our door, the only people allowed inside our chambers is us, Genya, Ivan, and Fedyor. But I guess there will be some possible exceptions in the future. What gossip are you talking about?" Aleksander says, ignoring the fact that I called him my enemy.
