Prarthana POV
It's been a month I come back. As mumma said, the very next day of my arrival to India dad's bestfriend come with marriage proposal for me to his son, Kishore.

Mumma was hell bent to make this alliance. When I was still in New York she always told how much respectful family they are, how kind and caring they are, how much she is happy to send me to a family like them.

She even convinced Anna for this alliance, I don't know why or how he agreed but now it's decided that I am getting engaged this month only.

I was ok, I was fine untill today.

As Athiya bhabhi had said many times so I reactivated my Instagram account today, and posted a pic as well. Than after few hours as he liked my post and than, he called me.

Devdutt called me.

I was just scrolling through my phone when I received his call. My body frozzed the moment I saw his name flashing on it.

Everything shattered like it was years ago. I thought I have moved on, I have moved ahead, but one call from him brought me back to the same place again.

Author POV
Prarthana was sitting on her bed, looking at the picture of them. Tears streaming down her face as she realizes she hasn't truly moved on from her first love.

"I thought I was okay, I thought I had moved on... but every little thing reminds me of him. The way he smiled, the sound of his laughter... I miss him so much, it hurts." Silent sobs left as she was looking at the picture with teary eyes.

She clutches a photo of them together, her heart aching with the weight of unresolved feelings

Her voice cracked as she mumbled "Why is it so hard to let go? I thought time would heal everything, but it feels like he's still here, in my heart, refusing to leave."

Her tears fall freely as she confronts the painful truth that her first love still holds a significant place in her heart, despite her efforts to move forward.

Raw vulnerability and emotional turmoil of realizing that the past love still lingers.

"I am still strucked here, without you" she mumbled looking at the picture.

"I'm getting engaged in two days, but all I can think about is you... How can I move forward when my heart is still stuck in the past? It feels like I'm living a lie, pretending to be happy when my heart is breaking inside."

She gazes at the engagement ring which her mother purchased today, the weight of the decision heavy on her soul as she grapples with conflicting emotions.

"I want to be happy, I want to believe that I can love again, but how do I let go of the one who still holds a piece of my heart? This engagement feels like a betrayal to my own feelings..."

"My heart belongs to you, mein tere bina nhi reh sakti, par tum toh abhi bhi bekhabar ho saare baaton se"

"Vaani, I am really tired" Prarthana whined. "Arre you made the plan, now you are the one refusing, how will this work broo" she huffed.

"Nirvan is already waiting for us, now how can I say that we won't be coming" she whined throwing pillow from the couch.

"Vaani look at my state, am I even presentable" Prarthana said pointing at her state.

She was in her pajama, hair in massy bun, puffy eyes and red face.

"So what we still have time, get ready. Get up faster" she stood, strode to Prarthana and made her stood.

Dragging her to bathroom.

"Nin hatra 10 minutes ede, come on hurry up" she voiced before pushing Prarthana in bathroom.
(You have 10 minutes, come on hurry up)

Prarthana sighed cause she can't escape now.

She washed her face and got freshed up. Wearing black colour off shoulder kurta which had white and red colour flower prints on it with plain red colour plazo pant paired it with white dupatta hanging on her neck.

She walked out of her closet and sat on vanity combing her to remove tangles from it. Setting her hair free she searched for pair of earrings.

Her eyes fell on earrings which are placed in a transparent box. Her mind was reluctant to wear it but heart heart yearned to wear it.

Listening to her heart for last time she weared the earrings, which are brought by Devdutt.

"Wow akka Nan fiance meet agoke hogtidivi Kishore ala" Vaani teased Prarthana to make her feel lighter but didn't even affected her.
(We are going to meet my fiance not Kishore)

"Let's go" Prarthana said standing up. Vaani with pout walked behind her.

"Mumma, I will be back by 6" Prarthana informed while wearing her heels. "Ok come before your dad arrives" Her mother said continuing her work in kitchen.
