26. Adoring gesture

Dev was driving the car as Prarthana was seated on front seat. Soft music was playing as Prarthana was looking out with content smile playing on her face.

Dev who was time to time taking her glimpse was feeling like just jump out of car and dance his heart full. He needed this, her presence in his life. He had that stupid smile on his face.

Soon they reached the temple.

Prarthana took puja items from near by store. As she was about to pay Devd already give the note of 500 to the old leady.

"Chilary elappa" the old leady said.
(I don't have change dear)

"Paravagilla Amma, evatu nan nishchithart ayitu. E duddu ade kushi ge" Dev said with smile as his eyes disappeared in his cheeks. Prarthana who was beside him, pinkish glow adored her cheeks as she admire his gesture.
(It's fine aunty, today I got engaged so this is for you as gift)

Looking at Prarthana who's cheeks were adoring by blush the old leady got it. He gestured both of them to come near her which they did still in confused looking at each other.

"Noor varsha sukvagi eri" she said that ith huge smile.
(Live happily for hundred years)

Prarthana smiled at the gesture and looked at Dev who was already looking at her with smile still playing on his face. Her heart melted at the sight.

Taking the basket of flowers and puja items Prarthana walked to temple. It's Friday of shravan so temple was little bit rush by woman's.

Prarthana was walking up and the pallu of her saare was on floor, Dev looked at it and quickly grabbed it as it will make her saare dirt. Prarthana who was unaware of this walked up.

As everyone is busy in their own no one noticed him, which he is thankful of.

They walked in temple and handed the basket to prist. Standing beside each other Dev joined his hand and thanked the god for whatever happening in his life.

Prarthana took the pallu of her saare and placed it on her head and joined her hand while closing eyes. Soon the pallu f ll down stairs hich was noticed by Dev. He took the pallu and again placed it on her head. Prist who com back smiled at him which he returned.

Behind the prist another prist come who was young, nearly on his mid twenties.

"Devdutt Padikkal" he said making both Prarthana and Dev look at him while gluping. It's like deer catched in headlight.

But they felt relieved as the prist smiled. "Sir don't be afraid, I won't interfere in your private life"

After finishing the puja, Prarthana took the prashad and both headed out.

Dev's family was now talking with Prarthana's family.

Prarthana was seated between Athiya and Vaani, listening to elders talk. Dev was with Rahul and Mayank as Mayank was catching up with them.

Soon it was 3 and Padikkal family decided to leave. Everyone gathered in living room and started to walk out. Prarthana's parents were talking with Dev's parents, Athiya with Chandni, Rahul with Mayank as Mayank was leaving too as something come up.

Prarthana who was about to walk out to bid bye to Mayank stopped by hold on her wrist. She looked beside to see Dev.

She looked everyone walking out than at him. "Dev.." she whispered. "I will miss you" he mumbled looking at her with puppy eyes. "but we are in same city" Prarthana said as she knew for sometime he is going stay here only till Onam, as the festival is around the week.

"Still" he said. "Dev" Chandani voiced from outside. "Chandi di is calling you" Prarthana said looking at him with little worried expression. He sighed and started to walk out than stood and turned.

Prarthana raised her eyebrows asking what as she walked near him. "Bye" he said and quickly peaked her lips making her eyes go wide. She quickly glanced at door to see if someone seen it and sighed in relief after looking at everyone who were busy, than at him.

"What was that?" She mumbled still shocked, Dev chuckled before patting her head. She still not used to his new side.  Dev walked out with smile.

"Hayy hayy smiling and all haan, kya hua ander" Mayank who saw Dev quickly asked as soon as he come near. Rahul looked at Dev who's ears turned red and smiled at his cute gesture.

Prarthana walked out, she bent to take blessings from but Mr.Padikkal didn't let as well as Mrs.Padikkal.

"You are like a daughter like Chandani, and you always have our blessings with you" he patted her head. Lokesh smiled and felt relief as his daughter is going to a family who are so caring and gentle with her.
