Devdutt was using his phone in his room. Suddenly door of the guest room brust open. There stood Mayank, he ran to Devdutt.
"Dev I am sooo happy for you" he said crashing Devdutt in his hug. "finally yaar, you don't even know how much I manifested it" he blabbered shaking him violently.
"I know you are happy but now you are suffocating me" Devdutt mumbled trying to get free from his bone crashing hug. Mayank left him and said "so tell me how you proposed Prarthana what was her reaction, ahh I want to see her but I also want to surprise her" Mayank said with pout.
Author POV In Living hall, all couches were at sides and long mat was spread in the big room.
Middle of the room placed small puja table on it was a kumbh (kalash) was placed which was decorated with flowers. Plates full of verities of fruits, flowers, sweets and suger was in front of the table. Few jwellery sets, saare and other gifts were near it.
Two pandits (prists) were examining the two kundali's as all family members were seated there talking to themselves and parents of Prarthana and Devdutt were waiting for Pandits to say something.
"Tumba valey jodi Amma, 30 ke 30 gunagalukodibandive, ee jodi sukh samruddhi enda jivan madtare" one of the pandit said with smile. (It's a best pair, 30 out of 30 quality's matches, this pair will live their life with happiness and prosperity)
"Muhartad time ayitu, hudagahudagi na karetanni" the main pandit said as he closed the kundali's. (The time of engagement is getting near, call the couple)
Vaani walked to upstairs with Athiya and Chandani walked to guest room with Mayank.
Soon Devdutt come to hall with Mayank and Chandni. He took seat between his parents and gave them a small smile.
Looking at all the preparation his heart thumped in its rib cage. He still can't believe he is getting engaged with the only girl he loved. Everything was getting too fast but it's not like he doesn't like it, cause he is loving it.
He heard anklets sound from stairs, turning his face their he saw most beautiful person smiling. Prarthana was walking down with Athiya and Prarthana and was smiling as Athiya was telling her how she felt on her's and Rahul's engagement.
Walking to center Prarthana sat between her parents.
Devdutt was still staring at her, "Bhai khud ko apne hi sasural mein embarrass mat kara" Mayank who was sitting behind Devdutt mumbled in his ear. Devdutt quickly adverted his gaze from her.
Pandit started to chant some shlokas and in middle he said "thambul badlayisi" Devdutt parents took the large plate which is consist of green saare, green bangles, jasmine flower gazra, anklets, some fruits with coconut and kumkum with haldi and forwarded it to Prarthana's parents.
Prarthana's parents took the plate and forwarded their plate which is consist of a white dhoti and kurta with shavle, coconut and fruits. Devdutt's parents received it with smile.
"Shri shubhkrut naam vasantsara, shraavan maasa, denaank 8 shukravaar dandu chiranjeevi kumkum saubhagyavati Prarthana Lokesh Kannur avar nishchithart chiranjeevi Devdutt Padikkal avar jote ge guru hiryarasummuka dali nerverutade" another prist fastly said which was barely understood to others other than the parents of Prarthana and Devdutt. But nevertheless everyone started to shower Prarthana and Devdutt with flowers.
(Sorry but I really don't know how to translate it but I can briefly tell that it's just about the particular day with it's date, week name and month name according to hindu calendar and their full name and declaration of their engagement)

As all rituals completed and priest's left before blessing Prarthana and Devdutt.
Now Prarthana and Devdutt now seated on a couch for ring ceremony.
Vaani come near Prarthana with ring in decorated plate, on other side Mayank walked with ring in his hand near Devdutt.
"Mayank, when did you came? How are you?" Prarthana said with surprised look.
"Just few hours before the engagement, and I am perfectly fine now you should focus on ring ceremony, we can talk later" Mayank cheerfully said.
Devdutt took the ring from Mayank and forwarded his hand near Prarthana "can I?" He mumbled with gentle smile, Prarthana nodded before forwarding her hand.
Placing the ring in her ring finger, he kissed her back of hand and everyone cooed at the sight followed by claps.
Prarthana took the ring from Vaani and forwarded it near Devdutt with shy smile "Dev" she mumbled. "You don't need my permission" he barely mumbled looking into her eyes. And she made him wear it.
Ambili, Devdutt's mother walked near Prarthana and Devdutt, placing her hand on Prarthana's head she smiled warmly.
Chandni come behind her mother with plate which had green bangles in it. Mrs.Padikkal took some of them and took Prarthana's right hand, and started to make her wear them.
Soon ceremony ended with lots of happiness, teasing and laughter.
"Tanu putta, ninu dev ebru ammanavar devasthan ke hog banni" Rajeshwari, Prarthana's mother said as she walked near them. (Tanu dear, take Dev with you to temple)
