18. Longing eyes

Prarthana walked out from home temple with puja thal. Walking out her eyes fell on the person who was already looking at her.

Those dark brown eyes were staring deep into her's making her froze on her place.

They saw eachother after two years, two fucking years and they know these two years are anything but short.

One can see the longing and yearning in their eyes but them. Soon she realised what she is doing and quickly turned to door, walking out she stood in moonlight.

Her feets were shaking as her knees were going to give up anytime soon.

Her mind was blocked, she was literally shaking, she choked on her breath, whole body had goosebumps. She still can't believe it.

'he is herreee' her mind screamed but she mantained her composer as she started her Puja.

After few minutes as she walked in Athiya walked to her.

"Tanu kaise ho?" Atiya hugged her, she hugged her back "mein thik hun, aap kaise ho" she said as her eyes flickering between Rahul and Devdutt.

"Hey Putta, hegidiyo?" Rahul asked her englufing her in hug. "I am fine Anna" she said hiding her face in his chest. He patted her back.
(Hey Putta, how are you?)

As she pulled out, Devdutt come near her. "H.Hey Prarthana, how are you?" Devdutt asked fidgeting with himself.

Prarthana frowned as she looked at him,

'He was behaving like everything is fine, like nothing was messed up years ago. Like he is just talking to his long lost friend. It's not fine bro, there's nothing fine now. Everything is messed up every fucking thing is messed up. From two fucking years.'

Her words didn't come out as she just nodded. Rahul who was beside her patted her shoulder. "Khana khaye" he said as he knows she still didn't had anything as she just completed her Puja.

Devdutt POV
Rahul bhaiya ringed the door bell and we waited for someone to open it.

Than in few seconds aunty opened the door. She gave us a warm smile. "Olag banni, alle yek nintidira" she said.
(Come inside, why are you guys still standing out)

We entered inside and Rahul bhaiya hugged uncle and aunty. Athiya bhabhi bent to touch aunty's feet. But aunty didn't let her to do as she hugged her too.

Sat on couch joining everyone, than I heard small murmuring from inside as I looked straight I saw Prarthana seated there with composed position and chanting mantras.

She proceeded with puja and after few minutes she come out. As soon as our eyes met she frozzed on her place. Than walked away without saying anything.

She was wearing the earrings which I bought her in Jaipur. She still has them, it made me feel so happy unknowingly.

After ten minutes she come back inside and this time Athiya bhabhi walked to he and greeted, Rahul bhaiya also greeted her so it will awkward if I don't say anything so I too greeted. She frowned at fast than nodded in response.

I know she must have felt, suddenly what had happened to me, as I was the one who started to ignore her.

They all walked to their dinning room where food is already placed.

As they sat on their respective chairs Prarthana stood up to serve everyone. "Tanu" suddenly her brother and father said at same time. Understandings what they are hinting she quickly sat down.

Athiya and Rajeshwari (Prarthana's mother) both served food to everyone and themselves.

Prarthana wasn't able to eat as she was just seated infront of Devdutt.

'why is he here? Is he here for engagement? God why? Why you always do this to me' she whined in her thought as she glupped the modak she was chewing.

Somehow she completed her food, "mumma Nan room hogtini. I am so drained" Prarthana told to her mother in kitchen while placing dishes in dishwasher.
(Mom I am going to room)

"Ok, good night" she wished.

Prarthana walked out and greeted everyone good night including Devdutt and started to walk upstairs.

Devdutt was fidgeting whether to follow her or not. His patience was at the edge but he was afraid too as Mr.Lokesh just sitting infront of him.

Rahul noticed Devdutt being in dilemma. "Dev Jaa, ab kya engagement hone ke baad baat karega" Rahul said Devdutt looked at Rahul than Mr.Lokesh who nodded at him.

'Yahan yeh kya ho raha hai, why uncle is supporting me to talk with her?'

Shrugging off his thoughts for while he stood and strode to upstairs behind her with thudding heart.

On the other hand Prarthana entered inside her room and closed it from behind.

It was about to close when it pushed open.

She turned quickly only to see Devdutt standing there.

"Ohh... What are you doing here?" She said looking at him blankly.

"Prarthana we need to talk"
