Chapter 010: Secrets
Katie Kent had never sobbed harder in her life. She also hadn't experienced anything that scary in her life before. No matter how many horror movies her brothers had shown her, nothing compared to that. She sat with Joe Faulkner on her couch, sobbing her heart out into his chest, also still wearing his Kansas City Chiefs hoodie.
Joe Faulkner had no idea how else to comfort the crying girl. He wanted to go and kick the absolute shit out of Timmy Ryan for what he had done to her, but she needed him more. He just dreaded the moment her brothers would come home, because he knew he would have to be the one to explain what happened. He just prayed that her parents wouldn't come home first. But for now, he sat with the girl on the couch, letting her sob into his chest as he gently rubbed her back. But that only lasted for a few minutes.
"Joe? What the hell happened?" Joe's head snapped up to see Jordan and Jonathan Kent standing over him, watching their little sister cry.
"Uh... well..." Joe muttered, and then he took a deep breath, and did his best to explain, what probably was happening. He couldn't tell who's reaction were worse, Jon's or Jordan's.
"He... what?" Jordan managed to spit out after a moment of silence.
"Yeah, I mean... that's what it looked like. Unless it was something totally different, but I didn't think so." Joe said. Katie's sobs had quieted down a bit, and she just held onto Joe tightly now. Jonathan Kent, being the calm and collected person he was, punched the wall. He shook his hand for a minute, and then looked back at the three.
"I'll be back." He spat out, before storming out of the room.
"Jon, Jon, wait-" Jordan said as he chased after his brother. Joe turned his attention back to Katie, who had now lifted her head to look at Joe.
"Jon's pissed, isn't he?" She said very quietly, and Joe gave her a small smile.
"A little bit, but I think Jordan's got it covered." Joe replied as she gave him a small smile.
