Chapter 025: Trouble
"Any updates on Dad?" Jon asked as the boys walked into the kitchen the next morning, and I was slowly dragging behind.
"Uh, not yet, we're working on it." Mom replied as Grandpa walked out of the room without saying a word to us.
"Why don't you, like, write an article about how Superman was taken prisoner by the DOD?" Jordy asked.
"Trust me, they would just deny it. You guys are going to have to keep yourselves busy after school until your Grandfather and I figure this out." Mom replied as she grabbed her jacket.
"Sure." Jordy said as I nodded.
"So whatever is going on between you two, I suggest you figure it out. And you better change your attitude." Mom said as she patted me on the shoulder and walked out of the room.
"Jordan." Jon said, but he walked out of the room. He looked at me, who was grabbing a orange.
"What?" I muttered as I walked out after Jordy. Then I stopped and turned back to Jon.
"Oh, and Jon, I heard your conversation with Jordy last night. Just stay away from me today, okay?" I said, and I saw the disappointment on his face.
"Katie, wait-" Was the last thing I heard from him that morning before I slammed the door on his face.

"Hey Kate." I heard Jason's voice.
"Oh hey. What's up?" I said as I shut my locker door and turned to him.
"Nothing. You going to French?" He asked.
"Yeah, Spanish?"
"Yup. Hey look, there's been something I've been meaning to tell you-" He said, but then I cut him off as I held up my hand. I saw Candice handing Jon a brown paper bag, and I immediately knew what it was.
