Chapter 030: Complications
Jon, Jordy, and I sat at the kitchen table, waiting for Mom to bring Dad home. Then I heard it. The screeching of tires and brakes stopping.
"What?" Jon asked as me and Jordy both looked up.
"It's Mom and Dad." We all immediately got up and rushed outside. As soon as I saw Dad, he wrapped the boys in a hug first, and then me. Suddenly, he broke away.
"I-I just need to sit down for a sec." He said quietly. He slowly started walking in as Mom gave us all a small smile.
"Your Dad's going to be okay." Mom said, and I almost believed her, until Dad tripped going up the porch steps.
"Dad!" He held out his hand as he slowly sat back on the stairs. He shook his head.
"I'm not getting better." Dad muttered, and I sighed.
"Babe, go easy on yourself. According to the DOD, Ally completely drained your cells of all solar energy. It's gonna take some time." Mom said. If only I had seen that vision sooner, maybe Dad wouldn't be like this.
