Chapter 006: The Offer
"We won't be here long, so don't make a scene. No fighting." Mom said as Jon and Jordy playfully shoved each other. I followed both of my brothers as they made there way over to Sarah and her little sister, who were sitting on a table in the corner eating lollipops.
"Hey, Sarah." Jordy said as she looked up.
"Hey! You're too sick to go to school but your Mom brought you here?" Sarah asked as she took the lollipop out of her mouth. Oops, forgot about that.
"I started feeling a lot better, so you know, we came." Jordy explained, and Sarah nodded.
"Jonathan, I'm really sorry about Timmy and the playbook. I would've done something if-" Sarah began to apologize, but Jon cut her off.
"It's all good. I got one now, so it's cool." Jon said as Jordy looked at him in confusion.
"Cool." Sarah said.
"Let's get this thing going by welcoming my friend and our mayor, George Dean." Mr. Cushing announced to the room as he gestured to the Mayor.
"Hey, Sarah, can I talk to you?" I whispered to her.
"Sure, c'mon." She said as she hopped off the table and we made our way to the back of the room.
"So, what's up?" She asked as she played with her lollipop.
"What's Timmy like?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like... is he always a jerk or...?"
"Oh yeah, totally, ever since pre-school."
"Oh, cool."
"Why, is something up?"
"N-no! Just, he was being a jerk earlier with the other guys so I was just trying to help Jon, y'know?"
"Oh, got it. If you ever need to talk just let me know."
