Chapter 009: Secrets

WARNING: SEXUAL THEMES

"Up and at em', munchkin!" Dad exclaimed as he turned the lights on and off in my room. I groaned as I threw a pillow over my head, but then the warmth of the blankets were grabbed off of me.

"Hey!"

"If I don't get to sleep in, neither do you." Jon muttered sleepily.

"Love you too."

I walked downstairs to the smell of pancakes and bacon, which immediately woke me up.

"Grab a some and get outside, your dad and I need help preparing for Harvest Fest." Mom said as she handed me and the twins plates.

"Harvest Fest? So, is that why you've been Supermanning all week? So you free up some time to go to this?" Jon asked Dad as we... harvested the corn? I didn't really know farm terms that well.

"It's a tradition! Goes all the way back to 1949 when Smallville was established. It's one of the best things about being here." Dad replied happily.

"Your have been hearing about this from your Dad since we first started dating." Mom added.

"Bedtime stories to help you sleep, or what?" Jon asked as Mom laughed.

"Either way, it doesn't sound like much of a festival. It just sounds like a whole bunch of people selling stuff." Jordy said.

"Not just sell, share! You know, whatever than can, with anyone who needs it." Dad replied.

"Think of it as Smallville's version of Burning Man." Mom said.

"Minus the fires and BO, I hope." Jon replied as me and Jordy laughed.

"Ha ha, your Grandmother loved it, okay? She used to spend weeks planning what we were gonna donate. She made lists and spreadsheets." Dad explained.
