Chapter 035: Solitude

"So what's this big trip you have planned for us anyway?" I sat holding Krypto as we all waved goodbye to Aunt Lucy and Grandpa. Dad smiled as he wrapped Mom in a hug.

"I hope Krypto's okay." I muttered as we rocked back and forth on the boat, in the middle of nowhere a week later. I was freezing cold, and Jon had already sacrificed three of his coats.

"I think Nat's got it covered." Jon replied, and I crinkled my nose in disgust as Jordan puked off the side of the boat while Jon laughed.

"Jordan's sea sick!"

"No, I'm not!" I smiled as Jordy leaned back over the boat, gagging a bit.

"So what's this big plan of yours anyway?" Mom asked as he and Dad walked up from the back of the boat. I wrapped myself tighter in the jacket as Dad pulled out a blue crystal.

"Are you gonna try and build another fortress or something?" Jordy asked.

"Yup. Only this time, it's for all of us. A place where we can all find some solitude." Dad said as I he held up the bright blue crystal.

"Probably more for the ones that can fly, though." Jon muttered as I smiled.

"No. We're doing this as a family. And just so you know, my Mom, she's been wanting to meet you two, and she has some pretty cool Kryptonian technology you might be interested." Dad placed a hand on me and Jon's shoulders, and nudged Jon.

"Really!?" Dad happily nodded.

"His ego doesn't need to get bigger. He already has a Monster Truck." Dad chuckled as Jon rolled his eyes.

"You can ask her about it yourself. But first..." Dad turned to the open seas, and chucked the crystal across the skyline.

"Think the crystal might've expired or something?" Jordy muttered as we kept standing, waiting for something to happen. Before Dad could answer, a large ice crystal shot out of the water, shaking the boat more.

"Not expired." I muttered as Jordy gripped the sides of the boat and turned a bit more green. I watched as tons of giant ice crystals shot out of the water, making a triangular formation.

"This is incredible." Mom whispered in awe as Dad smiled.

"It's only the beginning." I smiled as I watched the ice crystals continued to rise.
