Chapter 019: Welcome Home

"Another, really? Did the last one learn nothing?" Joe turned to see a older girl with black hair pulled into a ponytail, with green eyes, and an outfit like Edge's.

"Where is she? Where's Katie?" Joe asked, and the girl grinned.

"Ohhh, you're him. She really hoped you would break through for her, but you never came. Your to late, Katie Kent is gone lover boy." The girl said as she laughed.

"She can't be. Katie!" Joe yelled. He found himself stumbling through memories, some Katie's some not hers. Until he fell onto the ground of a classroom with papers everywhere and desks all over the room. Then he saw her. Katie Kent was in the very corner of the room, with tears streaming down her face and hair even messier than it was on the outside. She slowly looked up, and frowned when she saw Joe.

"I told you to just go away." She muttered as she shook her head.

"Katie, please, it's me." He said as he knelt down in front of her, but she just kept shaking her head.

"No it's not. Your just here to tell me you hate me." Katie whispered as Joe sat against the wall next to her.

"I'm not. I'm here for you." Joe said as Katie looked at him.

"No. You can't be. No one is." She said as more tears streamed down her face.

"Why would you say that?" Joe asked her.

"Because you all told me. You all told me you hate me. I know you all hate me. I'm nothing but a screw up. I just shouldn't exist." She said, and Joe's heart snapped in two. She sounded so broken

"Can I?" Joe asked as he slowly wrapped his arm around Katie. She slowly nodded, and placed her head on his chest.

"You told me. You told me yourself. You said you hate me, and that you could never love me, and that I was crazy for ever thinking you would date me." Katie said as she looked at Joe, who wasn't smiling.

"Katie, I would never say that." Joe said, but she looked at the floor.

"Katie look at me." He said, but she didn't move.

"Katherine." He said, and she slowly looked up.

"You are the most amazing girl in the whole entire world. I would never say anything terrible like that about you ever." He said as she gave him a small smile, but it quickly went away.

"But that doesn't change what anyone else said. They all still hate me. They don't need me." She said as Joe pulled her closer.

"Katie, that wasn't them. They weren't here. But Jon was. He came in here to try and save you, just like I am." Joe said, but Katie still didn't budge.
