Chapter 013: Gone
"You're really happy this morning." Jon said to Katie, now Zara-Rho, as she sat down next to him the next morning with a smile on her face.
"Just a good night sleep." Katie replied as she poured herself some orange juice.
"Really, so this has nothing to do with your four hour long disappearance with Joe yesterday?" Jordan said as he nudged his sister, who rolled her eyes, but kept a smile on her face.
"No, it doesn't, Jordan." Katie said as she put her dishes in the sink.
"Jordan? We're ditching nicknames now? Should you start calling me Jonathan? Should I call you Katherine?" Jon said as he dumped his dishes in the sink next to Katie.
"Never. I'll be in the car." Katie said as she grabbed her backpack and practically skipped off. Jon and Jordan exchanged glances.
"That was weird. She's never that happy in the morning. I have to practically drag her out of bed." Jon said.
"Yeah, somethings up." Jordan agreed.

"Hey." Joe said to Katie as he took a seat next to her in French.
"Hey." Katie replied, not bothering to look up from her papers. Joe took a deep breath. He could tell something was wrong.
"Look, about yesterday. I'm really sorry if-" He began, but Katie cut him off.
"No, no, it's fine. I'm sorry I didn't call you back last night, I was just really tired." Katie said as she turned around and gave him a smile.
"Yeah, it's cool. So... what are you working on?" Joe asked, noticing all the extra papers on her desk.
