Chapter 015: Memories
"Jordan and Jonathan Kent. The twin sons of Lois and Superman." Tal-Rho said to Clark as they reached the end of his memories. Clark now knew. His mind was being invaded. Tal-Rho was going to know everything. He watched as his so-called brother stood above the twins, as infants.
"No, no, please. Please. They're just babies." Clark begged.
"How little you know me, brother. I would never harm a newborn. Teenage boys on the other hand... and that's not it is it?" Tal said, and all of a sudden, they were in a different room. Clark turned to see Lois holding another baby, who was peacefully sleeping, while a very small baby wrapped in a white blanket rested in her arms.
"Katherine Elise Kent. A bargaining chip I didn't even know I had..." Tal said as he stood over Lois. All of a sudden, Clark sat up in his own ice fortress. He felt something on his head, and he quickly pulled off what looked like a metal headband. He stood up to see Tal, with the same metal headband on his head.
"It's good your awake, Kal-El. Now you and I can discuss the terms of your surrender." Tal said.
"My kids are not bargaining chips." Clark said as he threw the metal headband on the ground.
"This device was created by Ter-Loc, one of Krypton's greatest scientists. It allows the user to navigate the resting mind of another." Tal said as he explained the headband.
"You knew I'd be weak from my solar flare." Clark assumed.
"So I followed you here, where I could sift through your most precious memories." Tal said.
"To extort me?" Clark asked.
"No, Kal. To understand you, to understand what possible reason you could have to betray your heritage. To think it was all for a human family." Tal said.
