Chapter 032: Recharge

"How do we get back to our Earth?" Jon asked as we walked through the Bizzarro version of our house.

"I don't know." Mom replied.

"So in all your time with Superman, you've never experienced anything like this? Like, world's suddenly changing?" Jon said.

"Nothing like this." Dad muttered.

"What matters is that we're all together." I felt Joe grab my hand, and I immediately tightened my grip on his hand. My headache was hitting harder by the second.

"Wait. That's from our kitchen." Dad pointed at wall. Our plaque, 'It went by so fast', was still on the wall.

"A lot of this stuff is." I looked at the picture of me, Jon, and Jordy, just before a beeping noise went off.

"My tablet!" Nat exclaimed.

"I'm gonna try to connect with my Dad. Maybe being on this world will help somehow." Nat grabbed her tablet and ran outside. Mom looked at all four of us, and we followed her outside.

"Hey, Nat. Anything?" Jordy asked her as we walked outside. Nat shook her head.

"Hey, look, just 'cause your tech can reach him doesn't mean he's isn't out there." Jon tried to cheer her up.

"That's just it, though. When I was stuck where my Dad is right now, I was able to connect to his suit." Nat explained to us.

"It's probably just-"

"It doesn't matter it should work!" Nat exclaimed as she cut Jordy off. Nobody said anything.

"Look when my Mom died, I wasn't with her. She was out reporting to people on how to defend themselves. And I never got to say goodbye." Nat spoke softly as her voice began to break.

"I didn't get to tell her how much I loved her, or how proud I was to be her daughter. I didn't get to say any of that. And now I'm not gonna get to say any of that to my Dad either." Nat finished. A second after she spoke the last sentence, her iPad came to life.

"N-Nat? I'm-get-either-bug-time-" It was a shaky audio, and nothing was clear.

"John Henry's still alive?" Mom asked as we brought the iPad in.

"We think he's still in the void in between worlds." Jon said.

"What about Ally?" Mom asked.

"It's hard to say, my Dad kept breaking up. All I can make out is that he needs my escape pod." Nat told Mom and Dad.
