Chapter 24: PARTY TIME!

I skid to a stop in front of Sonic's house. Venice came to a stop next to me, he had powers like Silver, so he flew using his psychokinesis.
"I win!" I exclaimed, jumping up and down. Venice laughed at my childish behavior as Sonic walked out.
"There you are, the- Venice? What are you doing here?" His voice had a slight edge to it, which is odd for the happy-go-lucky hero.
Venice turned to him with a cocked smile. "Zara here invited me."
I nod. "Yup! And we had a race on the way back, I won!" I cheered.
Venice chuckled. "I'll say one thing, she sure would give you a run for your money, Sonic. She's moving faster than you boys."
I stopped laughing for a second. "Faster than you boys.... That's it! Sonic I know what song I want to sing!"
Sonic tilted his head. "Oh?" I nod and run inside, finding that Sonia, Manic, and Amy have arrived.
"Hey Sonia, Manic, I know what song. Do you think you can learn it before the party starts?" Please tell me they can, otherwise I'm not gonna be able to sing.
"We sure can." Sonic walked up from behind. "The party starts in about half an hour so it'll be a tight fit. But I think we can do it." He winked at me and gave a thumbs up.
I squeal in excitement. "Great!"
Haven chuckled. "You looking forward to singing?"
"Actually, yes. I'm both nervous and excited all at the same time." I laughed. "In any case, let's get started!"

~~~~Later~~~~
"Oh boy....." I sweat drop at the sight of the many people that came. Sonic walked over to me wearing a smile.
"Hey Zara! You ready to sing?" He asked.
"Well... Er... I guess..." I mumbled.
Sonic tipped his head to the side. "What's the matter?"
"I didn't realize how many people that was going to show and...." I look out at the crowd, most were dancing to the pop music that Tails was playing, him being the DJ. Others were off to the side talking and eating. All but Shadow, who was leaned up against the wall in the far back by himself. Surprise.

"Yeah, there are quite a few here. But I know you'll rock this. Have faith in yourself Zara, your better than you think." Sonic gave me a cute smile, making my cheeks heat up a little.

"If you say so...." I mumble as the blue blur walked over to Tails.

Someone tapped me on the shoulder and I turn to see Venice behind me. "Hey, I just wanted to wish you luck before you go on." He said.

I smile. "Thanks Venice, I'll need it." A soft sigh escaped my lips.

"I wouldn't worry about it. I bet your fantastic singer." Venice smiled brightly, making my face heat up a bit. "Anyway, I just wanted to wish you luck." As the words leave his mouth, Sonic picked up a microphone.

"Alright guys, who's having fun?" Everyone, but Shadow, let out a whoop in response. "Great! Now we have a treat for you all, and I'm more than sure your going to like it. We have Zara coming up here to sing for us!" Everyone clapped and shouted as I walked onto the stage with a nervous smile. Sonic put the mic on the stand and gave me a look. "You ready?"

I take a deep breath and nod. "As much as I'll ever be."

"Okay, now lets get this show on the road! Stage is all yours Zara." Sonic jumped down, off the stage and walked over to Haven and Silver. I look out at the crowd, the butterflies in my stomach grow larger as my heart beat picks up a little.

"Um... Hi, I'm Zara and um...." I bite my lip. "I-I'm going to sing a song called 'Faster Than Boyz." I look over at Manic who was playing the drums, and nod. He clicked his drumsticks together three times before he and Sonia started to play the beginning beat. When my time came to sing, I closed my eyes.
"Can I have a map? I'm getting lost in your eyes

That's the first thing you said
And when I looked up, yeah it was no surprise
So much hair-gel was applied to your head"

No one said anything or made a noise as my thin lips part, the next lyrics floating out.
