A few days had passed since we decided to throw a party. Now it's been a whole week since I woke up by that lake. Still none of my memory comes. It's starting to get annoying. Have you ever had the feeling, that you know something, yet you can't quite grasp it? That's how I feel now.
Sonic and Silver went to the store to buy some decorations and Haven ran out to do something. I don't know what, she said it was a secret and don't tell the others. So I'm now all alone at the house.
"So bored...." I yawn sleepily. "What to do...." I look around the living room. I could play on his Wii U. No, not fun without friends.
My eyes trail to the wireless radio on the coffee table. Hm.... Maybe I could listen to some music. I turn on the radio and instantly knew the song that played. I don't remember where I had heard the song, but I knew it. By heart.
"Baby when they look up at the sky, we'll be shooting stars passin' by. You'll be comin' home with me tonight. We'll be burnin' up like neon lights."
I tap my foot along to the beat as the song really started up. The upbeat music entered my ears, my heart in tune with the beat if the drum.
"Be still my heart cause it's freaking out, it's freaking out, right now."
As the song continues, I start to hum along with it.
"Shining like stars cause we're beautiful, we're beautiful. Right now. You're all I see in all these places. You're all I see in all these faces. So let's pretend we're running out of time, of time."
Before I could even think, I sing along to the song. I do know this by heart.
"Baby when they look up at the sky, we'll be shooting starts just passin' by. You'll be comin' home with me tonight. We'll be burnin' up like neon lights..."
I don't remember when I started, but I was dancing as well.
Time passed along with the song. A snicker behind me made me freeze. I turn to see Haven, Sonic, and Silver at the door. Haven had her phone out, pointed at me.
"Well now," Haven smirked and clicked something on her phone. "That was quite the performance."
My face was probably crimson red by now. "I-I... H-how... W-when..." I fumble for the words as my cheeks flickered with dark fire. "H-how long have you b-been standing t-there?" I manage to say in a squeak.
"Long enough." Silver smirked. "Haven even caught it on video." Haven waved her phone for more effect.
I cover my face with my hands and dash up to the room I'm using. Once inside I slam the door shut, locking it. That. Was. Sooooo embarrassing! What was I thinking!? I groan and face-plant on the bed.
After however long it was, I get a knock on my door. "Hey, Zara?" Sonic's voice drifted though the door.
Oh please no! I don't want him to tease me too! I heard the door being unlocked. Of course he would have a key.
"Zara?" Sonic's voice was clearer, he's probably in the room now. I pretend to be asleep by closing my eyes and forcing my breaths to soften.
Sonic's footsteps grow louder as he makes his way over to me. He said my name one more time, shaking me lightly.
I gave up and pulled my head from the pillow. "If you're here to laugh at me, then get out."
"No, I'm not here for that." He chuckled.
"Then why are you in here?" I sit up.
"I have a request." The blue blur bit his lip. "Would you mind singing at the party?"
My jaw drops. "You want ME to sing?! At the party... Where all of your friends are going to be?" Color drains from me at the thought of preforming in front of anyone.
"Yeah," Sonic nods. "you sounded really good. In tune with the music and you could hit almost all the pitches."
I shake my head rapidly. "Nononononononono! I couldn't! I can't sing."
"Zara, are you kidding me?! What we just saw was awesome! You have a beautiful voice." He flashes me his million dollar smile. I could already feel the heat rising to my face again at his compliment. "Please Zara? Just one song? I'll even sing with you if you want."
I bite my bottom lip. "I don't know Sonic..."
"Then lets try this," Sonic sat next to me. "sing one song with me. Not in front of anyone, just us. If you don't like how we sound, then you don't have to sing."
"You're not gonna take no for an answer are you?" I sigh and the azure hedgehog chuckles.
"Nope."
"Fine, but don't get your hopes up." I warn him.
