Sage Taylor

I dried my hands before placing the towel down. I looked out the window as I watched In-Yeop horse around with his siblings.

"Mrs.Hwang." I said.

"Yes." She said.

"What happens if I don't want to be In-Yeops mate?" I asked.

She looked at me before focusing on drying the dishes.

"He'll die, but don't let that force you to say yes...but as his mother I am asking you to please consider it." She said.

I looked at her and grabbed her hand.

"I will, I promise I will." I said.

She embraced me in a hug and let out a breath of relief. We walked outside and  sat on the porch. As I waited for my family to arrive, I grew nervous, nervous of what they would try to pull.

"They're here." In-Dae said.

I looked around confused.

"I don't see anything." I said.

"I hear them." He chuckled.

I watched as my father's Jeep pulled up in front of the cabin. I stood up as they all exited, In-Yeop stood in front of me.

"Good morning." In-Dae said.

"Sage enough, get in the car." Saint said.

"She's not going anywhere." In-Yeop spat.

"Listen you little shit, I may have let you go yesterday but trust today is a new day." Sylvia said through gritted teeth.

"You right it is, but like I said...she's not going anywhere not without me." He said again.

"Can we just have a civilized conversation?" I asked.

"We're done being civil, we let you have a friend like you asked. Now do you see why we had the rules in the first place?" My dad said.

"Fuck your rules, no one can control a mating call no matter what. Even if I didn't approach Sage it would've still happened." In-Yeop explained.

"That doesn't matter." Saint snapped.

"You're right, what matters is how we can all come to a common ground for the sake of the children?" Mrs.Hwang asked.

In-Yeop wrapped his arms around my waist causing me to look up at him.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

I nodded.

"Look, I understand you all are worried about Sage safety. I as a father can guarantee you that she will always be safe. She will soon become apart of the family." In-Dae said.

I looked at my dad as I seen the wheels turn in his head.

"No." Saint shook his head.
