Sage Taylor

I slipped out of In-Yeop's grip before slowly walking out of the room. I tiptoed down the hallway before grabbing my shoes. I slowly opened the front door before stepping out, I quietly closed it before putting my shoes on.

I checked my surroundings before slipping my hoodie on. I stepped off the porch before I began to walk through the woods.

After about 30 minutes I finally made it to my destination. I pulled the binoculars out of my bag before putting them close to my eyes.

"So fucking predictable." I scuffed.

I watched as the cashier scrolled on his phone before I sat down. It's been a week since my dad was murdered and I've been watching this 7/11 since then. I felt my phone vibrate and noticed it was Evangeline texting.

Old Woman: They still aren't budging, we're on our own. I'm headed back now.

Evangeline was busy trying to convince the other sirens to stand on our side to fight but they weren't budging. I shot her a quick ok before placing my phone into my pocket.

I looked over my shoulder and sighed.

"Come out." I said.

I heard heavy footsteps and low growling grow louder. I looked at Ash and sighed before he sat beside me.

I looked at him and squinted my eyes.

"You don't have to shut us out."

I chuckled and shook my head.

"Never knew I could read your mind." I mumbled.

"Well...you learn new things everyday. Why didn't you tell us that you were doing a stake out?" He asked.

"Because I know In-Yeop would hound me about it." I scuffed.

"Of course, because it's dangerous...you know the military are on these streets constantly." He said.

"Look if you're going to sit here and tell me about how dangerous this is. Then go back to the house." I said.

"My love, I'm not here to lecture you. I'm here to help you...whatever you need I'm here. I just want you to know that, you're not alone." He said.

I sighed and rubbed my hands through his fur.

"You said you can smell my scent states away right?" I asked.

"Yes." He said.

I nodded as I continued looking through the binoculars.

"Why are you even out here?" He asked.

"Planning my kidnapping." I mumbled.

He stood up and growled causing me to look at him.

"I forbid it, that's too dangerous." He said.

"Good thing I wasn't asking for your permission." I said.

"Sage, I can't let you do this." He said.
