The sun had barely risen but Headmaster Alaric Saltzman was already awake, head trapped in books, attempting to pinpoint the knife's origins. He had so many questions, but so little answers were available.

"It's 3:50. Why are you awake?" asked a voice that made him jump slightly.

"Jesus! Caroline." He took his glasses off his face and rubbed his eyes. "Why are you awake?"

"I asked the question first."

He sighed. "It's Gaulish." He dragged his finger across the page, "It's always Gaulish. This will take a while to translate." He looked up to the clock in his office. "I might have to call Dorian for a bit of assistance."

Caroline hummed a response as he reached out for the knife while his eyes were glued to the pages. Alaric yelped in pain, blood dripped out from a cut in his finger.

"Jesus Ric." Caroline vamped for the first aid kit, placing it on Alaric's desk. "You always tell Josie to look where she's going, but it's you who should look at what and where you're touching."

Red illuminated a dark field somewhere. Someone—No. Something came to life.

The sun rose beautifully in the morning. Lizzie Saltzman had done her make up and curled her blonde locks. Her sister on the other hand, still soundly asleep. Lizzie stared at the door knob, she wanted to leave her sister to be late to her morning classes. Payback of what she did yesterday.

Shut up, she went to the ER yesterday, and most importantly she's still your sister.

But she—Urgh! Fine! Lizzie rolled her eyes and turned her heel. She was hesitant to shake Josie awake. A phone in a pastel case lit up. One minute until alarm. Said on screen.

Lizzie took Josie's phone and set it in the brunette's ear. Waiting for the clock to tick down until...

RING!!!!!!!!!!!

Josie screamed and jolted awake at the sudden noise. Lizzie grabbed her sister's towel and bathrobe. "Bath." She said as she tossed the objects to a barely awake Josie.

"What?"

"Now!" Lizzie opened the door, motioning for the older twin to go.

When Josie returned from her bath, their room was silent. Lizzie has already left. What surprised Josie more was her uniform, placed neatly on her bed. The bed itself was also neat. A purple sticky note was on her blazer. 'Wake up early next time. -L.'

The note brought a smile to Josie's face as she put on her uniform. She reached for her glasses, "Right. Cra-" A box on her nightstand caught her attention. SHe picked it up and read the note that came with it.

'A thank you gift for a helping hand. -Hope'

Josie opened the box, her jaw dropped when she saw her glasses. She knew it was hers and not some replicate. Her name was the temple in faint writing. She wore the glasses and ran to her first class.

"Hello Doria-I mean, Mr. Williams." Josie stammered, not wanting to have an asthma attack before class started. "Sorry I'm late.

"No, it's ok. You're just in time.." Dorian smiled, "Take a seat. Chain spells are about the fluid movement from witch to witch..."

Josie took her usual seat next to Lizzie, even if the blonde was ignoring her. "Thank you." She whispered, "For waking me up."

"Next time, make sure your alarm works." Lizzie said, dripping with snark, but Josie knows her sister meant it with care.
