Despite not being initially impressed with Sensei Kreese's pick for female champion, Kwon had grown to like Tory. While she hadn't trained as long as he or Yoon had, she hadn't cost them the competition yet. Tory was the picture of American beauty that they had seen on so many film screens over the years. But Kwon's favourite thing about Tory was how connected she was to the Senseis' rival team and his main competitor in the tournament.

When he asked her out the first time, she immediately refused explaining that she had a boyfriend so Kwon changed tactics adding that it wasn't a date, just an opportunity for them to get to know each other better as co-captains since they had to work well together in order to succeed in the next round. "Fine." Tory agreed.

The Miyagi-Dos had been out exploring Barcelona and stopped in a bar for some traditional Spanish tapas and drinks to cool off. However, just as they were leaving Robby spotted a familiar head of blonde hair. "Hey, uh, I'm gonna hang around a while." He said quietly to Miguel.
"You sure?" His brother asked following Robby's line of sight.
"Yeah."
"Alright. Don't get into a fight." He warned.

Robby walked to the bar and ordered a soda sitting at least 5 stools down from the two cobras.

The ice melted in Robby's drink and water pooled around it from the condensation but he barely noticed as he kept his sad eyes on Tory. He couldn't stop watching her. What was she doing in Cobra Kai, why couldn't she just talk to him, and if she had to be in Cobra Kai why did she have to socialise with this guy? Were questions that ran through Robby's mind.

Kwon rambled on and on in his self-obsessed way while Tory played absentmindedly with the straw of her drink; she didn't want to be here with him, she didn't want to be with Cobra Kai, she didn't want her mom to be dead. She wanted...

Tory felt eyes on her and not just anybody's eyes, it was a familiar feeling, slowly she looked up from her drink and locked eyes with Robby, the one person who could make or break her.

Shock crossed her face for a second before she hid it from Kwon before he realised who was there.

Tory had never felt more guilty in her life, she dreaded to think what this looked like to Robby who had his own trust and abandonment issues, all she could do was lock eyes with him and hope that he could still understand her silent communications. As he stared into her eyes, Robby noticed the smallest of bruises shining through Tory's makeup and his lips set in a hard line.

As Robby looked at her how he did back in apartment complex the night they took Silver down and with Kwon's constant chatter, Tory began feeling overwhelmed and excused herself to go to the bathroom.

Taking a few deep breaths to calm herself down before the door opened, knowing who it would be she looked up.

"Please don't start." Tory said still looking at her reflection in the mirror.
"Well, I'll be honest, I don't really know where to start." Robby admitted. "How are you doing now?" He finally asked.
"Better. Worse. Indifferent. I don't know."
"You could have talked to me... if that would've helped. I tried calling and texting and going to your place."
"I know."
"Where is Brandon while you're here?"
"He was staying with a friend when it happened. Mrs Parton felt bad and offered to pay for him and her son to go to camp to take his mind off of it."
"That was nice."
"Yeah."

"I missed you." Robby blurted out unable to keep it in any longer. "I've been worried about you."
"Robby..." She warned him.
"I actually didn't think I could be more worried and then I saw you with Cobra Kai, with Kim who tortured you. I met your new friend as well - he's just great."
"He is a cocky, psychopath who would happily murder someone in this tournament. Please don't let it be you."
"You think he could beat me?" He covered his hurt with a laugh.
"I think he could kill you."
"So you thought you'd go for drinks with him? Toast to my impending death?" Robby questioned angrily. Storming over to him Tory argued back "Don't you dare play the jealous card. It is not like that and you know it."
"Then what is it like, Tor, tell me?"
"I'm trying to survive!" She shouted.
Robby tutted "I knew it." With a featherlight touch his thumb brushed under her eye. "What happened to your eye?"
"It was in the first round."
"Bullshit." Robby called. "I watched your fights. You barely got hit anywhere."
"Fine! But it's nothing just routine sparring for training."
"Oh yeah, just like the last training accident you had at Cobra Kai." Robby spat in her face.
"I'm not doing this with you, Rob." Tory sighed stepping around him but Robby got to the door first and blocked her path with his arm. "Please leave them, Tory."
"Stop."
"Tory, listen, we can work this out. Demetri and Devon pretty much got slaughtered in the first round you can take one of their spots."
"Real team leader you are, Keene." She spat pushing past him and walking out of the bathroom. Robby didn't waste a second to follow Tory and they both instantly came face-to-face with Kwon.

Looking between his partner and his rival he asked "What is this?" Before Tory could answer Robby grabbed Kwon and slammed him into the wall, holding him against it with his broad arm Robby threatened "You or your psycho boss touch her again, I'll cut your hand off and shove it down your throat!"
"Robby, stop! Robby, calm down!" Tory shouted grabbing his bicep and trying to pull him off Kwon but the Korean male captain pushed him back first before he attacked Robby himself. Kwon laughed at how easy it was "You actually sleep with this guy?" While he was busy joking to Tory, Kwon missed blocking the hook and uppercut punches Robby landed on his face.

Running in between them and pushing them away from each other Tory shouted "Okay, stop it!" As both guys ended up crashing back into opposite walls Tory continued "Okay, that is enough. I see one more display of testosterone poisoning, and I will personally put you both in the hospital. Anybody think I'm exaggerating?"
"He start-" Tory shut Kwon up with a glare and a coiled fist ready to punch. "That is enough team bonding for the day. You can go."
Before he left Kwon threw over his shoulder "Don't forget what team you are on, Americana."

Tory turned and looked at Robby "Now what do I do with you?"

However, before the couple could get into it the bar owner asked them to leave the premises for fighting.

Robby and Tory knew they still needed to have that talk so they walked along boardwalk before going back to their hotel. First, they talked about the Sekai Taikai in general:

"I knew things would be tense but..." Robby blew out a breath.
Tory sighed at the double meaning "They really are." She commented also realising how they had made this situation even more tense for themselves.
"I know I asked earlier, but how are you?"
"I'm okay, I think. I actually try not to think."
"Can I do anything?"
"No. But it means a lot that you tried so hard. I've never had anyone not give up on me. So, you wanna tell me why you're acting crazy?"
"Because I'm so in love with you I can't think straight." Tory stopped walking, her mouth was hung open and she tried to speak but no words came out. "Listen, I know you don't like to talk about this stuff at the best of times and that was probably really selfish of me to say, but I need you to understand that I am never leaving you again." Tory's eyes welled up, gently Robby brought her in for a hug giving Tory the chance to back out but she had missed him as much as he had missed her. "I know this has really thrown you when things were just getting good, and now your walls are back up but if you find yourself in a position to love somebody again... just fall in love with me... because I will be right here waiting for you."

A/n: This ended up a bit longer because I watched It Ends With Us today 🥺🥹 I was rooting for Atlas since I saw the trailer and not just because it was Spencer Dutton from 1923!! Why does Brandon always play the best characters in the series/movie? 😍
