Star of the show

With the international exposure of the Sekai Taikai, all of the competitors had been getting a lot of attention on social media from both brands and fans. The Sekai Taikai organisers also encouraged friendship and cross-culture communication. With this almost being a requirement, it meant all of the teems followed each other and that Tory had to unblock and unhide a certain group of people from her social media.

Although, Tory and Robby hadn't spoken in person since their initial conversation in Barcelona where she explained that she needed space to focus on the tournament, they sent each other a few cryptic messages on social media thinking that no one else could decipher them. For instance, one of Tory's favourite artists, Kelsea Ballerini released a new album one Friday to which she posted a story of herself jamming out to the new album with the caption "Happy Kelsea Ballerini Day 🩷💙🤠". And a short while later, Robby posted the link to the album on Spotify on his story with the caption "Happy Kelsea Ballerini Day to all those who celebrate 🩷💙🤠"

However, it wasn't just their closest friends who could tell there was something going on between the male captain of Miaygi-Do and the female captain of Cobra Kai. The whole world had a front row seat to their hidden relationship which greatly annoyed and amused one person in particular.

Robby and Miguel returned to their hotel room after a hard day full of rounds to find an envelope slipped under their door.
"It's for you." Miguel said passing his brother the envelope. "What is it?" Miguel asked trying to hide his excitement with caution well aware that they had already made a lot of enemies and the tournament wasn't even halfway finished. "It's an invite to some kind of banquet dinner tomorrow." Robby read carefully.
"Why didn't I get one?" Asked Miguel.
"Maybe it's a captains thing." Robby shrugged throwing the invitation on his bed not thinking much of it.

The next day was an off day in the competition and when the boys were chilling out in their room a knock on the door signalled the arrival of a team to get Robby ready for the banquet. Miguel tried very hard not to laugh at the boy's priceless expression.
"I will kick you off another balcony." Robby warned casting his eyes over to their hotel room balcony which just made Miguel laugh harder. He snuck a few pictures of Robby getting glammed up but the invitation had strict instructions not to post anything until after the event.

Robby looked around the ballroom of the hotel trying to recognise someone among the crowd of faceless donors and sponsors. He shifted and played with his hands awkwardly after refusing a glass of champagne from tray which a waiter had offered him. Suddenly, Robby caught a flash of something blonde. No, not blonde. Golden.
