I sat across from Ford in the bustling cafeteria of Ford's faculty. After four hours straight lectures, I was too exhausted to focus on any assignment, so just simply walked to the Business faculty, called Ford up and joined him for lunch.
The hum of conversation and clatter of trays filling the air. We were having our usual lunch, something we hadn't had the time to do in a while. Ford finished his sandwich as he was enjoying his soup when his phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and sighed.
"Class got rescheduled," he said, already standing up. "I have to run."
I nodded, trying to hide my disappointment. "Don't be late today, I should see you in front of my faculty with the car at dot 5pm"
"Yes Sir", Ford gave me mock salute as he hurried away, leaving me alone with my thoughts and my half-eaten lunch. I took a deep breath, trying to focus on the food in front of me, but my mind kept wandering back to the past few days.
I just turned in two huge assignments today and wrapped up a presentation yesterday. University is taking a toll and I was still trying to manage around. I had been really busy, throwing myself into my studies and trying to keep up with university life. Anything to distract myself from the turmoil inside.
But despite my best efforts, I couldn't ignore the fact that Gemini hadn't come back. He had left the estate that night after our fight, that was three days ago, Since then I haven't seen him anywhere.
But probably Dad and uncle knows, cause they don't seem to be quite bugged by Gemini's disappearance, probably they are informed. Maybe there is a reason. And at this point I had no idea why I was even trying to reason with it. But still I couldn't help but ponder over the situation again and again.
Was he avoiding me because of our fight? Or was there something more going on? Gemini didn't quite seem to be the type to disappear suddenly.
I took another bite of my sandwich, chewing slowly as my thoughts churned. The last three days had been a blur of classes, assignments, and sleepless nights. I had tried to convince myself that I didn't care where Gemini was, that I was better off without him. But deep down, I knew that wasn't true, I just-I just wanted a closure on the side of Gemini I saw that day. And not knowing when he'll possibly return made me a bit.....disappointed
I somehow finished my lunch as I went to the library to work on one of my assignments. Ford and I had to return back early today cause mom was leaving tonight. She had a conference in Hua Hin. She had to be there really early morning so she decided to leave by today evening. My dad will be accompanying her. So, Mom needs both of us back home early.
Dinner was early today as mom was supposed to leave by 9pm. After dinner dad stepped away with Uncle Aun to his office. Ford and I really didn't have much to do so we thought of just tagging along with mom while she would through her last minute packing.
"What do you both want?", Mom's sudden voice, full of suspiciousness, broke both my and Ford's trance. We both were lying in the comfort of the bed as I was looking at the high ceilings that seemed to stretch into infinity.
"What?", I asked looking at her
"I said, What do you both want? Suddenly gracing me with both of your presence"
"Ouch Mom! How could you say that?!", I said dramatically clasping my hand on my chest, "We just want to be with you"
"Sure", Mom scoffed as I saw Ford rolling his eyes at me, "I'll be honest, I'm just here for the bed.", he said snuggling into the pillow
"You have a bed of your own, same material", I said, as I looked at him squinting my eyes
"This bed is more fun", he mumbled
