FOURTH'S POV:-
I...I had never felt like this. What is this? As consciousness slowly seeped back into me, everything felt distant, like I was trapped in a foggy dream. My body was heavy, every inch of me aching with a dull, relentless throb. I tried to move, but my limbs wouldn't cooperate, weighed down as if they had been shackled.
Where am I?
The question echoed in my mind, but no clear answers followed. My thoughts were scattered, fragments of memories slipping through my grasp like sand. I struggled to remember what had happened, why I was here, but it was all a blur, a chaotic mix of images and emotions that made no sense.
My eyelids felt like they were glued shut, but I forced them open, squinting against the harsh light that greeted me. The ceiling above was white, sterile, and unfamiliar. The faint beeping of machines and the soft hum of something mechanical reached my ears, pulling me further out of the haze. A hospital. I was in a hospital.
But why?
My heart began to race, a flutter of panic rising in my chest. I needed to know what was going on, but even the simple act of turning my head felt like a monumental task. Slowly, I let my eyes wander, trying to make sense of my surroundings. The room was clean, too clean, with the sharp smell of antiseptic hanging in the air. But I smelt something more....it was so familiar-as I tried to recall, it hit me....Sunflowers? I can recognize that smell easily. It was very faint but it was there.
I fluttered my eyes to make a clear sense of what was around me. A few machines surrounded me, wires and tubes connecting me to them, the rhythmic beeping a constant reminder of my fragility.
A wave of dizziness washed over me, and I had to close my eyes for a moment, steadying myself. When I opened them again, I looked around, searching for something familiar, something to anchor me to reality.
That's when I saw him.
At first, it didn't register. There was someone sitting by the bed, a figure slumped over with his head resting on crossed arms. It took a few seconds for my vision to clear, for my brain to catch up and recognize who it was.
Gemini.
His presence was so unexpected that for a moment, I wondered if I was still dreaming. But no, he was really there, right by my side, his dark hair slightly tousled, his breathing slow and even. He looked like he hadn't moved in hours-
But Why?
My chest tightened with a mix of emotions I couldn't even begin to untangle. Confusion, relief, guilt, something else I wasn't ready to name. Why was he here? Why had he stayed? The last thing I remembered was......What was the last thing that I remember? Everything was so jumbled in my mind, like pieces of a puzzle that didn't fit together.
I wanted to reach out, to touch him, to make sure he was real, but my body refused to obey. All I could do was stare at him, my heart beating faster as I tried to make sense of what I was feeling.
I closed my eyes again, trying to remember, probably a few minutes had passed, as slowly a few things sipped in-
There's a gunshot
Not one, but two-
There was also a sharp pain in my lower abdomen
And there was....there was blood-my blood?
"You are bleeding too much Fourth, all I can see is blood around, I am so sorry..."
I focused on the voice as I saw a face....Gemini's face-it was....it was in pain....or maybe fear? Was it because of me?
