Chapter 27

"Why did you suddenly shoot him?", Ford's sudden question made me look up to him as he stared at Gemini who was walking beside him.

The interrogation was finally wrapped up, after ordering the guards to lock the man up we had just stepped out of the basement. We were silently crossing the lawn as Ford out of no where asked the question. Ford squinted his eyes looking at Gemini.

"He was infuriating me", Gemini said, his voice very casual and calm as he simply walked.

"But he wasn't talking to you?", Ford asked his eyes still squinted

"Still...infuriating.", Gemini said, voice still casual as he looked in front.

Ford looked back at me for a moment, as he simply looked away again

What the fuck goes on in this guy's brain? I swear I'll never know.

Walking into the mansion, Miss Hannah informed us that Atlas had been strolling around waiting for us for a long time as he had finally retired back to his room nearly an hour ago. 

"Thank you for taking care of him," Gemini said sincerely, a rare softness in his voice. Miss Hannah's smile widened in response.

"The shipments are going to arrive by the evening in the second warehouse," Gemini said, turning to me. "I'll head there after dropping Ace at my place."

"Ace?" Ford questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"I mean Atlas. Ace is a short form," Gemini clarified.

"Ace sounds cooler. I'm gonna call him Ace only," Ford said with a grin.

"Sure, if he lets you," Gemini replied, the usual smirk playing on his lips.

"What?" Ford looked over at Gemini, confused.

"Oh, Master Atlas is going back?" Miss Hannah's voice interrupted as we turned to her. "I was thinking of making cheesecake for him. He said it's his favorite." There was a hint of sadness or disappointment in her voice that I couldn't quite place.

Gemini hesitated for a second. Before he could say anything, I interrupted in. "Atlas can stay over" I suggested, looking at Gemini expectantly.

Gemini glanced at all of us, his eyes taking in our hopeful expressions. With a small smile, "Sure" he nodded. 

Miss Hannah's face lit up with excitement. "That's perfect! I'll get the cheesecake ready along with lunch.", she immediately turned away towards the kitchen. We al are well aware of how much she likes kids, of course she already likes Atlas a lot.

Ford's phone rang as he received it and within a minute he declared at he needs to immediately go to Uni-dude forgot he had a submission which consists of 25% of his grades. Typical Ford. Ford simply ignored my questions as he dashed out immediately.

As I turned to Gemini. I found him already staring at me, "You don't need to go?", he asked, his tone low

"No", I said, "Not today"

Gemini nodded on his own. As we both walked towards across the hallway, stepping onto the staircase, "Atlas probably missed school today with all this fuss.", I said casually.

I did not receive any answer immediately, as I looked up to Gemini I could see expression had changed a bit, "He didn't."

"Huh?", I asked, a bit confused with what he said, We covered the remaining stairs before coming at the landing

"He ....he hadn't been enrolled in one yet", Gemini stated his eyes in front as we stepped into the landing, his hands in his tracks pockets

I was a bit surprised. "Why?" I couldn't help but ask, my eyebrows furrowing.
