"Careful, Khun Fourth", the nurse said as she tightened her hold on my arm. I focused on taking my steps as I griped the walker.
She is the same nurse who had come with the doctor when I woke up, Miss Grace, that's her name. She had come in when I was still blankly looking at Gemini. She helped me stand and informed me that my assigned doctor has asked her to help me walk for a bit.
Gemini was still sleeping, I did not want to disturb his sleep, so I requested her if we could do it outside the room, and to my surprise she quickly agreed.
"I have barely seen him leaving this room let alone sleeping", she had said slightly pointing at a sleeping Gemini, "He had been very worried. Its okay sir, we can make you walk outside in hallway, its empty anyways"
barely left the room?
How worried was he?
I glanced at him as I could feel a pang of guilt-I have troubled him a lot
Miss Grace helped me out of the room, her hold steady as I leaned on the walker. Each step felt foreign, my legs trembling with the effort. The hallway was quiet, the soft hum of hospital life in the background.
I focused on putting one foot in front of the other, trying to ignore the stiffness in my muscles. It was strange to feel so weak, to be reduced to this slow, careful pace. Miss Grace stayed close, guiding me with gentle pressure, her presence reassuring.
As we moved further down the hall, I couldn't help but think of Gemini. Miss Grace had mentioned how he rarely left my side. The thought of him sitting by my bed for days, worrying, made me feel a pang of guilt. I hadn't realized how much I'd put him through.
We walked for a few minutes, the silence between us comfortable. My body ached with the effort, but it felt good to be moving, to be out of the bed. Miss Grace was attentive, her presence calming, as she quietly monitored my progress.
After a while, she gently suggested we head back to the room. I nodded, grateful for the break, and we began to turn back as he we again started to slowly move towards the room. We were probably a few more steps away from it when I heard it. My name.
"Fourth!"
It was Gemini.
His voice sounded desperate and terrified
Gemini woke up?
But what happened?
The sound of his voice sent a jolt through me, and I instinctively tried to move faster, my heart racing. Miss Grace tightened her hold on me, trying to keep me steady, but I could feel the panic rising. Something was wrong, and Gemini was scared. I had to get to him.
We reached the door, and I saw Gemini standing there, his face a mask of fear and desperation. I have never seen this frantic version of Gemini. But the moment his eyes locked onto mine-
"Fourth!", I heard his voice turned into a whisper
Without a word, Gemini rushed toward me. His arms enveloped me, pulling me into a tight embrace. I felt his warmth, his heartbeat against mine, as he wrapped around me, holding me like he was afraid I might disappear.
The intensity of his grip spoke volumes. I felt him trembling, his breath ragged and uneven.
"Where were you?", I heard him mumble before he detached himself from me
"Where were you huh?!", his voice was loud, worried, frantic-his eyes searched all over me-
"I-"
"Are you hurt? Did something happen? Where were you Fourth?!", Gemini looked as if he had lost his mind as he frantically looked all over me.
