AUTHOR'S POV:-
The car's engine roared to life, and Gemini gripped the steering wheel with white-knuckled intensity, his foot pressing harder on the gas pedal. The city lights blurred into streaks of color as he sped through the streets, pushing the car to its limits. His heart was pounding in his chest, matching the frantic pulse of his thoughts. He had the location now—just coordinates on a screen—but that was all he needed. Nothing else mattered.
Not how reckless he was being. Not the consequences of acting alone. Fourth and Ace were out there. In danger. And every second wasted was a second too long.
The speedometer crept higher, and the car flew down the empty highway, yet it still wasn't fast enough. Gemini's mind raced even faster—questions, curses, fear. What if he was too late? What if something had already happened? The gnawing dread clawed at him, tightening like a vice around his chest. His jaw clenched so tightly it ached.
"Fuck!" He slammed his fist against the steering wheel, trying to push the suffocating anxiety away. His nerves felt like they were on fire, the tension in his body unbearable. He couldn't lose them.
Another curse escaped his lips as he glanced at the GPS. The location was still almost an hour away.
A DAMN FUCKING HOUR!
It felt like a death sentence. If he could just teleport, he would. His hands gripped the wheel harder, veins popping along his forearms as he willed the car to go faster, to defy the laws of time and space. He couldn't shake the image of Fourth in danger, Ace at the mercy of those monsters. He had to get there—now.
A sharp ringing interrupted his thoughts. The dashboard lit up—Ford calling.
"Fuck, what now?," Gemini muttered, answering through the car's system.
"Gemini! Where the hell are you?!" Ford's voice was frantic, filled with a desperation that mirrored Gemini's own. In the background, Mark's voice could be faintly heard, equally tense.
"I'm on the way," Gemini snapped, his voice low but seething. His knuckles tightened around the wheel as he swerved past another car, speeding even faster. "I can't wait any longer."
"You should've waited for us!" Ford practically shouted. "We were preparing to move together! You can't do this alone—"
"I don't have time to fucking wait!" Gemini barked, his frustration boiling over. His foot slammed on the gas pedal harder, pushing the car as fast as it would go. "Do you not get it? They have Fourth and Ace! I don't know what the hell's happening to them right now!"
"We get it, but you're rushing in without backup—" Ford started, but Gemini cut him off again, his voice shaking with a mix of rage and fear.
"I can't sit around and plan, Ford! I don't have time to think about backup when both of them are out there, in goddamn danger!" His voice cracked, his emotions overwhelming him. He could feel his pulse pounding in his ears. "I don't know what they're doing to them! I don't know how they are! Every second I'm not there—"
"Gemini! Please, Stop trying to die!!" Mark's voice came through the line now, "We'll be right behind you, but don't go in there alone. It's a suicide mission!"
Gemini's jaw tightened, his eyes locked on the road ahead as the adrenaline surged through his veins. "Then hurry the fuck up and get there," he snarled. "I'm not sitting here while they—" His voice trailed off, the weight of what he wasn't saying hanging heavy in the air.
He couldn't lose them. Not Fourth. Not Ace.
Ford's voice was pleading now, "Gemini, we have left—just wait!"
Gemini's eyes darkened, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper, "I can't wait, Ford. I'm going, and I'll do whatever it takes to bring them back. I don't care what it costs." His tone was final, unrelenting. "Just get there as fast as you can."
