The infirmary room

After about a few minutes of making the announcement, most of the shipgirls have gathered outside Doctor Solace's ship as he himself ordered. With all the damage and possible injuries sustained, his ship is the only facility he can operate in. The 1940s medicine is just too ineffective for him compared to what he's been using since the start of his career. It's just way outdated and incomatible with his own medical work.

The surgery and blood transfusion on Universal was a small start, but it also indicated that he needs to organie himself better. He's already set up his first field hospital at the Universals' base, so he now needs to act with whatever he has at his disposal. Besides, with all the beds and rooms he has, what's better than to take advantage and make use of them?

-'Alright, follow me this way please', says DS to the shipgirls, who are stadning and staring at his ship in awe and amazement. It's obvious that they have never seen a ship like him, let alone one that is painted white and with a big red cross on the sides. Their amazement is only increased as DS leads them the interior and explains what each room is for.

Even Vestal, who at first thought the interior would look similar to her own ship, can't help but betray a slight indication of astonishment. Even the Azur Lane clinic at the base has no such equipment or is organized in such a manner. Even the fact that every quarters and room are still clean and shiny is enough to make her eyes widen in disbelief.

-'And here is the infirmary', says DS as he opens the door of infirmary room number seven. It's a small room with a chair, a desk, and two beds, in addition to the laptop and all the modern medicine, bandages, etc.

The shipgirls are left there, standing in bewilderment. Sure it looks similar to their infirmary and clinic at the base, but things such as the laptop, the IV equipment, and some other medical stuff, all seem unknown to them, even for Vestal who is supposed to be the main repair ship in this base. Some of the equipment, like the surgical tools, the syringes, and other tools on the desk and near the beds are more familiar, but other equipment like the TV screens above, the ECG machine, the monitors, all that is equipment they have never seen or heard of before.

-'Alright, I want you all to stay in line outside while Vestal and I will be treating your wounds', explains DS, pointing at the beds of the infirmary.

He was expecting to use the surgery room as well, but after examining each shipgirl, it seems that all they have are a few scratches while three or four have a few cuts that need to be stitched back. Seems like this is going to be much easier than he expected. Not that he's bothered, but it's a rather unusual situation, having patients with only scratches after such an intense aerial bombardment when the injuries are expected to be much heavier. Doesn't matter. Small or big, he can treat any injuries.

-'Vestal, do you have the list ready?', he asks Vestal who is standing near him.

-'Yes, it's right here', replies Vestal and hands DS a list that contains the names of each shipgirl. He then sits down on the chair across one of the two beds and gestures Vestal to do the same, which she does. 'I'm sure I don't need to explain you the basics of this tests'.

-'No need, I've done this before countless times', replies Vestal, sounding as confident as ever.

-'I don't doubt it, but here, there's a policy and protocol I have to follow', says DS. Despite his current situation, the Red Cross rules and protocol are still in effect for him, and he must follow them to the letter. They are restrictive, yes, but this ensures everyone's safety.

-'Very restrictive if you ask me', says Vestal, sounding rather frustrated.

-'True, but it is what it is. Can't disregard safety you know', exclaims DS as he picks up some cotton and a bottle of liquid antiseptic. 'Anyway, let's begin. And I will start by letting you have your favorite patient. Enterprise, Vestal is asking for you'.
