Today was a big day for us, I'm meeting my Sweetness's family. I wasn't necessarily nervous I just have this habit of being cold until I get to know you. It's not in a mean way its just how I've always been.  She told me there is no reason to be worried that her family is welcoming, which if they are anything like her, I bet they are.

I knock on her door but she doesn't answer this time just yells for me to come in. Not going to lie I'm not a fan of her not locking her door. I twist the knob and step in. I lock the door behind me as I call out to her. "Sweetness where are you?"

"In my room." I head in the direction her voice come from, there she was sitting on a patted stool in front of her vanity. I stop dead in my tracks and stare at her. She had on an oversize band tee and pair of black yoga pants. Her fingers expertly weaving her long hair into two braids. I love how she stopped stressing about what she wears around me. Her peace and comfort are my main concern. I was serious when I said my favorite outfit was her PJ's. But those yoga pants might take the number one spot.

I shake my head getting rid of my thought that were drifting to a place I didn't need to be before meeting her family.

I had a bone to pick with her and I need to get to picking. "Sweets why was your door unlocked?"

I lean my large frame on her door way and cross my arms. She finished with one last twist of the tiny black elastic. I watch her eyes in the mirror and she is looking everywhere but at me. I don't want her thinking I'm mad at her, so I go and pick her up. I take her seat then rest her back down on my lap. Rubbing my nose along her neck and kiss her behind the ear as she melts. I love when she turns to putty for me.

"I forgot to lock it, then when I heard you knock I remembered. I'm sorry." She tucks herself into me and hides her face in the crock of my neck. I pull her closer and kiss her head.

"Don't be sorry, I'm not mad. I just want you to be save. No biggie, okay?" Kacey hate upsetting people and honestly is way too much of a people pleaser. So when she thinks someone is mad at her she completely shuts down. Like she is trying to do right now, but I'm not going to let that happen. I cup her beautiful face between my hands and tilt her head up.

"Don't hide from me Sweets, I need you to look at me so you can see I'm not mad. I shouldn't have said anything I'm just over protective." Her eyes widen as she tries to shake her head. "No you're right I won't forget again. Don't stop doing that though." Pleased that she is looking at me on her own I drop my hands to her shoulders rubbing them.

"Stop what?"

"Being protective. You just want to take care of me and I love that."

Love that word has been popping up a lot lately. Every time it does my mind instantly goes this ray of sun sitting on my lap right now. Not that I would tell her that, it is way to soon for that and I don't want to freak her out. "Okay I won't. Are you ready to go to your dads?" It was Thursday family dinner, she said it was the best time to meet everyone.

"Yeah I just need my crocs." She hops off my lap and I give her a little pat on her cute butt.

Yep first place goes to yoga pants.

We pull to her childhood home and it looks like we are the last ones here. I help her out of her side of the truck like I normal do but I don't let her walk away just yet. I pin her to the side of the bed and slam my lips onto hers. It doesn't take long for her to match my movements. I don't want to just stand in her father's drive way and make out, but I need a minute and I don't know when I will get to have her this close again. I break away and take a couple steps back. "Sorry I needed to kiss you before we go in there just in case."
