"Come on Ross! We're gonna be late!" She said trying to haul her suit case. The servant stopped her. She smiled politely and nodded. The guy then started to load her stuff into the car. He walked down the stairs groggily. "Why are you up so early? And shouting?" He asked rubbing his eyes. She turned around to face him. "Are you kidding me?" She asked. He ran his fingers through his hair and gave her a look. "What do you mean?" He asked. She crossed her arms in front of her chest as she scolded him. "What's today?" She asked. He thought to it for a moment before it clicked in his head. "Be right out in 30." He pecked her cheek quickly and ran off.
"Look. I'm sorry about this morning." He said. She shook her head. "Its okay. I understand. We have been busy lately and I guess we lost track of time." She sighed. He held her hand. "Tell me what's wrong." He said. She looked at him and smiled. "Just a little bit nervous. I mean I'm not introducing you to all of my family as my boyfriend but my husband." She said. "Woah. Are you sure you wanna do that?" He asked her. She nodded. "If I don't, I don't think I'll be able to stay long with guilt building up inside me." She said.
He smiled and rested his head on hers. "I promise things will be just fine. I mean its your dad's birthday. Imagine how happy he would be knowing your happy." He said. She smiled. "I know. Its just that I have this feeling that maybe I---" She stopped as she started to gag. He gave her a bag. She threw up into it. He rubbed her back gently. She closed the bag. "I'm sorry. I hate flying." She said. He chuckled. "Its okay. I understand." He said. She wiped off her mouth and got up. "I'm gonna go get rinsed up."She said walking off towards the bathroom.
"Daddy!" She ran to her dad. "Laura!" Her father called embracing her in a hug. She smiled widely. "How has time been?" He asked her. "Oh amazing. I'm learning so much." She ranted. "Really? Like what?" He asked. "I've joined criminal pyschology. Its so much fun. I also learned that time is an illusion." She said.He shook his head. "Hiw about polotics?" He teased. "Not if my life depended on it." She giggled. "Well. What are you waiting for? Tell me more. Come inside." He said. She smiled. The servants all started for their belongings.
"Wow. Laura. You've only gotton more beautiful than the last time I saw you." Mandi said. "Why thank you. I moisturize." She winked. Mandi chuckled. "Of course you do. Such beautiful skin so neatly precised." She said. She smiled crookedly. "Once again thanks." She smiled. "Where it that--" They stopped as they heard a commotion outside. She knew that voice anywhere. She quickly ran towards it. "Ross!" She shouted and quickly ran over.
"What are you doing?" She asked as she pulled him off. "I'm teaching this guy manners. Does he not have some?" He asked slapping the guy. She blushed embarrassly and looked at her parents. She finally pulled him off. The guy gave him money and ran off. Laura bit her lip. He stood there and counted the money making sure it was right. "So this is what you do?" Her father asked him. He looked up. "No not really." He answered bluntly. "Ross...." She whined. "Sorry. No sir. Not at all. The guy said something I didn't like so I corrected it. " He said stuffing his hands in his pockets.
Her father eyed him for a moment. He looked at him from head to toe. "Very well." He said and walked away. Mandi shook her head at them and followed him close behind. She looked at him. "What?" He asked. "Your gonna tell me what really happened here." She said dragging him away. "Okay! Ow! You don't have to be so forceful!" He said. She groaned in frustration. She walked into her room and shut the door. "Now. Go. Tell me exactly what it is." She said.
He played with his fingers. "Tonight is all about your dad. I don't want to be all alone. Especially in a place like this." He said. "But your not. I'm here." She held his hand. He shook his head. "That has nothing to do with the attack on the cab driver." She said. "He was charging me way more than the actual price. I was not gonna pay him that much money for barely driving for half an hour." He said. She giggled. "You didn't have to hit him because of that." She said. "He was talking about my wife. Of course I did." He said. She laughed.
"What did he say?" She asked. "Oh nothing. That you want to hear.So that's why. And as for your father, the man hates my guts. But I'll suck it up and wish him a happy birthday. And then after, maybe I can take you on a late night?" He asked. "As long as you promise no type of violence and wear this suit." She said holding it out to him. His eyes narrowed. She pouted. "Pwease. For daddy's birthday." She said all whiney. "Your so lucky I love you." He said. She smiled and pecked his lips.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome madam Laura and her new husband, Ross." The annoucer said. His eyes widened as everyone's eyes turned to him. She winked at him as they made their grand enterance to the ball room. Her father was smiling so Ross had a little bit of relief. They made it to the bottom of the stairs as everyone murmured amongst themselves about the couple. Mandi walked over and took a hold of her hand and started to walk away with her. Her arm becoming unlinked to his. She happily wished her father a happy birthday while Ross looked at his empty arm that was empty. "This should be fun." He mumbled to himself looking at the laughing girl across the floor from where he stood.
