Chapter 14

She looked on as her father approached her. She held her breath. He held her tightly wiping off her face."Its gonna be okay.Its okay." He whispered to her. She shook her head. "I love you." She said just as her father pulled her out of his arms. He looked on. "I love you too."He said as her hand slipped away from his. "Ross...Save me." She called out to him. "I will."He said. Her dad glared at him. "Stay away from my daughter." He snapped at him. She tried to make way past him to get to Ross.Her body guards held her tightly. Ross stood there as his love was being dragged away from him. He couldn't do anything about it. He was practically being threatened.

"What do you mean Laura's gone?"His mother asked as he broke the news to her. "Yeah. She's no longer gonna live in that house anymore. She's going back where she came from."He said sadly. "Why?"She asked him. He shrugged. "Because of her father." He said. "What about her father? I met him last night. He was a nice man." She said. "He was nice alright." He mumbled. "Did you drive them to the airport?" She asked him trying not make it sound depressing in anyway. "No. Her father told me to stay away from her." He said looking down at his feet. "And you listened?"She asked him. He sighed. "What was I suppose to do mom? He had security and everything."He said. She sighed.

"You do what I told you to do since the day you could comprehend what I tell you." She said. He looked at her. "What was that?"He asked. "Fight. Fight for her. Don't let anyone punk you out. I know who you are.When you need your skills most,you turn to shut down. Stop doing that and fight for what you believe in.I know you love her. She knows you love her. Now prove to her father that you love her and will do anything for her." She smiled. She smiled faintly. "But where do I begin. Her father is like dad. Stubborn and doesn't take anything." He sighed.

She chuckled. "Sweetie, she loves you.I'm sure if you put in the effort, you guys will end up together before you even know it." She rubbed his back. "I will do that." He said and hugged her back. "And if he doesn't accept, I'll bring her here. We'll live together. Be that family."He said. His mom chuckled. "Your getting ahead of yourself. Prove it to her father first. Then we can build on from there." She said. He nodded. He looked at the time. "Maybe I can make it to them. Her flight doesn't leave for another hour." He said getting up. "Then what are you waiting for?" She asked. He smiled. "Thanks mom." He kissed her cheek and ran out. She laughed for a little.'Oh my. What have done?' She thought.

She crossed her arms in front of her chest and turned away from her father. Rocky and Rebecca looked at her and frowned. "Laura..." Her father called to her. She wiped off the tear that rolled down her cheek. She sniffed and slowly looked at him. He sighed. "You can't be serious."He said. She bit her lip holding the words that were begging to come out. "No. I'm not serious." She said wiping off her cheek. She looked back into space. "Its for the best." He said to her. Rebecca was gonna say something but Rocky shook his head and held her hand. "For me or for you?" She asked as she looked at her step mother.

She hated the lady and she didn't know why. "Why?" She sniffed. He looked her way. "Why what?" He asked her. She shook her head and took a deep breath. "Trust me. You'll be over this in the morning." He said. She whipped her head in his direction.She looked at him in disbelief. "Mom wouldn't allow this." She mumbled. He looked at her. "What did you say?"He asked her. She curled up into a ball. "I want you to take me back. This is my life now." She said. He laughed. "Laura. This is not the life you want. And I hope that your not really into settling for that boy I saw last night." He said.

She glared at him. "He's not just some boy. His name is Ross. He showed me what it felt like to be free for once. I don't want to be your little princess that you lock up in a tower for years. I'll die alone. I want what mom had. What mom did. What mom--" He cut her off. "Enough! Your mother is no longer here!" He shouted. She closed her eyes tightly. "Yes she is. She's right here." She said pointing to her heart. "Flight 282 is now boarding." The intercom rang. Neither Marano moved. They were both destined to win. But which one was it?

"Your grounded." He said. She laughed. "I'm an adult. I should be able to make my own choices and live my own life." She said. He eyed her. "We'll talk about this later." He said trying not to cause a scene. She laughed loudly. "Mom wouldn't have told me this. She was very accepting." She said. She was talking from the wounded heart. "Show some respect for your father." Her stepmother finally spoke. She looked at her as if she had two heads. "Ew....Why are you speaking to me?" She asked. Everyone gasped. "Laura!" Her father called.

"Laura! Laura!" She heard his voice. She looked around. "Ross!!" She shouted trying to find him in the crowd of the crowded airport.Her body guards got up and started to guard her. She pushed through them.His running figure soon came into view. She met him half way. "I knew you'd come for me." She said softly. "I told you I would." He smiled. She kissed him passionately and wrapped every muscle she had around him. He kissed her back. "Get her!" Her father shouted.
