He stared at her. "What?" He asked finally speaking. "I want you to marry me." She said. He just looked at her for a moment. "Laura...That's a big step." He said trying to reason with her. "I know. But I feel like my step mom has something up her sleeve. Make my dad think that your not as great as I say you are or something worse. I just have that feeling that she's after our relationship." She answered. "I understand but Laura..."He started. She rubbed her nose against his. "Aw come on. Say you wouldn't want me to be declared yours?" She asked him.He pulled away from her slightly.
"It sounds good but I can't do that. Especially behind your father's back. I also get that feeling that your step mom does have something up her sleeve too but I can't do that. I'm sorry." He said. Her big brown eyes filled with disappointment. "Sorry? Don't you wanna have a future together?" She asked. "I do. Trust me that's all I could think about but after your father allowed you to see me, I'm not gonna over step it." He said. "So you really don't wanna marry me?" She said sadly. Before he can say anything, she walked away. "Good going bub." Todd said bumping him. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with mom or something?" He asked. "Don't care." He groaned and walked out the house.
She sat there picking flowers. "He loves me....He loves me not....He loves me.....He loves me not...He loves me....." She said picking the petals off the flowers. She sighed. "What can I do to make him understand?" She asked herself. She sighed and looked at the garden she practically filled with petals. She leaned down to pick them up. But something grabbed her hand before she could even get down to her knees. He smiled up at her as he held her hand, on one knee. She looked at him blankly. "I love you." He said kissing her hand. She blushed preparing herself for the speech he may or may not give. "What?" She asked him. "I'm sorry for the way I was acting. I know you just want what's best for us and I do too. Marriage is a big step. That's a step I want us to take together. When we're ready. Not because we want to stick it into someone's face." He said. She giggled.
"I know. I'm sorry about that. Its just...."She started. "It won't happen. You know why?" He asked standing up. "Why?" She asked. "Because I can never let go." He said kissing her forehead. "But.." He cut her off. "What did I say about that?" He asked. She pushed his shoulder. "Shut up." She rolled her eyes. He smiled. "Now.." He said. She giggled as he lifted her up. "Your a butt."She said. "Awe. Now why would you say that about your lovely husband?"He teased. She glared at him slightly. He smiled cheekily. "Don't worry. In my eyes, I see you as my wife. I just don't have a ring to prove it." He frowned playfully. "Oh who needs rings? Not this girl. I could wear a cardboard cut out of one and I wouldn't care. As long as I get to declare you mine."She winked. He blushed. "I'll give you a little something." He said bringing her closer. Just as he's about to kiss her, Todd walks in. "You know...You guys are no fun."He said.
He groaned. He placed her back on her feet. She wrapped her arms around his neck and chew on his lips slightly. "Seriously? I thought we were best friends here?"He asked her. She laughed and pulled away. "Fine. Don't you have somewhere to be?"She asked. He shook his head. "No. I'm supposed to drive around with that guy for another hour."He said. "Well then. How about you join me for lessons."She suggested. He narrowed his eyes at her. "What kind of lesson?" He asked. "A really good one. It starts out slowly but quickens as we go."She smiled. "Uh...No thanks." He said. "Awe. Why not?" She pouted. "Because I don't wanna be seen doing some girly sports or exercises." He said. She glared at him. "Girly exercises? Really? We do the same exercise routines as you men." She said. "Sure muffin. If you say so." He said. He glared at him.
"Don't you ever." He growled. He put his hands up in defense. "Fine. Fine. I'll do one lesson." He said. She smirked. "Its a date." She said holding out her hand. He shook it. He growled slightly. She giggled. "Relax. As if." She said. Todd nodded. "Ross drive me he before you can't control yourself anymore and I'm stuck her trying to get that image of you sucking faces out of my head but it keeps happening so I'm scared for life. At least I won't have to deal with yo--" They cut him off. "We get it!" They shouted. He chuckled. He smirked as he laughed. He leaned in towards her as he bit her ear. She giggled. He groaned. "Drive him home. I'll be here." She said. He nodded. "Lets go mut."He said as he pecked her cheek and headed out.
She unpacked and settled in. She looked at her collage books. What did she even want to study? He walked in and looked around. "Pretty neat." He said. She turned to the sound of his voice. "Great huh?" She asked. He nodded. She smiled. "Thanks for allowing it." She said putting her hands in her back pockets. "Why wouldn't I?" He asked. "I don't know." She chuckled. She hugged him then. It was finally sinking in that she was able to do what ever she wanted. She kissed him back slowly. He smiled. She pulled away slowly. "Oh. And by the way, we have to sleep in seperate rooms." She rolled her eyes. "I knew we had a butt coming." He rolled his eyes. "Oh well. Lets make the most out of what we got." She said pulling him with her. "Woah!"
