He balled his fist as he slowly approached the girl packing. "Hey Laura." He greeted her. She smiled. "Hey Sean. What are you doing here? Are you lost or something?" She giggled looking at her screen. He cursed under his breath. There was no doubt, the boy loved the girl. But too bad she was taken and she never noticed him. Their relationship was on a boss and employee level. But she never bossed him around. She lived her life while he did the same. Her dad gave his uncle a job and he was kinda just brought into the mix.
"Going somewhere?" He asked her. She smiled and laughed once more still staring down at the screen. He coughed to get her attention. She put the phone away as she looked up at him. "Did you say something?" She asked. "I said are you going somewhere?" He asked putting his hands in his pockets. She looked around. "Oh. Yeah. I'm flying back over to meet Ross. I'm gonna surprise him. Sh...." She said putting her finger on her lips. He forced a smile. "Really? Thats cool."He said. She smiled. "Did you need something?" She asked. He looked at her confused for a moment.
"What do you mean?" He asked. "Well your in my room. Your never in here unless you are sent by someone to come get me." She said. His eyes widened with realization. "Oh that. Yeah."He said scratching his neck nervously. He was crashing and burning. He didn't even know how to start a conversation with her. Her phone rang breaking the awkward silence. Her face lit up like a Christmas tree as she seen the picture flashing on the screen. "Hey." She sang. "So tell me all the details now." Rebecca's voice rang. She giggled.
He rolled his eyes and awkwardly walked out of her room. She chatted away with her best friend full of laughs and smiles. He couldn't go through with it even if he tried. Hurting her us like putting a sword through his gut and taking his own life. He sighed and walked away where he met his uncle down the hall. "So?" He asked him. He glared at him for a moment. "Why?" He asked his uncle. "Just do it." He said. He growled and stormed off. His uncle smirked as he looked down the hall at the laughing girl. "Marano has no idea what he has created." He said and walked off in the other direction.
"Ross get over yourself. Like seriously. What is that even?" Todd asked him. He rolled his eyes."Dude I doubt it anyway. I want to fly out to Cali and surprise her. But something tells me to stay put. And plus I have a lot of books."He said. "I still can't believe you still want to drive people around. Like get a better job that pays better." He said putting his feet on his table. Ross eyed his feet. "Get your feet off my table!" He yelled. He quickly took his feet off and sat up straight. He chuckled. "Good boy." He petted him. Todd frowned.
"This job does pay well. Look how much I made today." He said holding up the stack of cash. "Woah. Did you sell a kidney?" He asked checking him and eyeing him throughly. "No.That's illegal. Unless your licensed to do that." He said. The kid look at him as if he was talking crazy. "Uh....What does that even mean?" He asked. He shook his head and walked away. "Hey! I asked you a question!" He shouted after him. He rolled his eyes and kept on walking.
"Awwe. Are you sure that's what you want your daughter to do?" She asked her husband. Mr.Marano eyed her. "What do you mean?" He asked her. "Well I'm just saying you know. I thought you wanted your daughter as close as possible. And with the circumstances, I think she might move to that place." She said a bit disgusted. He didn't notice since he was looking away at the moment. "I do want her to be as close as possible but she is an adult. I can't be involved in her life anymore." He said. She rolled her eyes. "What if I told you, there is someone willing to take her off your hands? You wouldn't have to worry if she's okay or not. She'll be right in your reach."She said smiling a bit.
He looked at her. "Being with someone is her choice. And I know she has thoughts of college so relationships is the farthest away from her mind at the moment. She has been attending for 2 years now. And I want her to continue on her education. The boy just became a bonus." He said. She rolled her eyes. "A bonus? So your investing on him?" She asked. He shook his head. "No. I have looked into the boy. He's quite charming considering he comes from a smaller portion. But everyone has a story to tell." He shrugged. She looked at him confused. "What does that even mean?" She asked. "Lets put it this way. Laura loves him because he's that boy. And he loves her. Why? Because she's that girl. Who wouldn't love her?" He asked.
"I can name a few." She mumbled. "What was that?" He asked. "Oh nothing. So you were saying?" She asked. He stood up and approached her. "I don't want you involved in her life. She is not what you think she may be." He said. "Just like her. Why doesn't she like me?" She pouted. "No. Don't say that. She does like you. She only needs time to get used to you. Then you guys should be good." He said kissing her forehead. She rolled her eyes. "It has been almost a week." She said. "People need more than a week to adjust to change. I mean look at Laura." He said and walked away. She mimicked him. "Look at Laura." She rolled her eyes. "That little brat will give me everything I want." She growled and marched off.
