chapter 17: a fresh start

Mias pov:

Today, I'm thinking about taking Charlotte out for a date since we had our big argument yesterday. I felt so guilty about what happened, and I feel it's only right that I take her out for a good time.

I tell her that she needs to go upstairs and get in the shower and I will pick out some clothes for her. The girls mean a lot to Char and me too so I decided it's probably best if I bring them along.

While chars in the shower, I go and grab Charlotte a lovely red dress to wear, and I have a black one that will match perfectly.

Ellie picks out her red dress and silver glitter boots, and Lilly wears a purple jumper and leggings. Lilly is kind of a Tom boy, so I'm not going to force her to wear dresses.

I leave Charlotte to get ready, and I hop in the shower to get ready myself.
I start to get nervous about tonight's date since the girls are going to be there too but Charlotte's mum has the girls all of the time and it's not exactly ideal for any of us really.

A part of me still worries about Mike coming back for the girls, but I know that if he does come back, I am more than capable of protecting the girls and char.

2 hours later:

We are all finally ready, so I tell the girls and char to get in the car. Ellie and Lilly end up falling asleep, char let's give them a blanket, and let's them nap because we are over and you're away from our destination anyway.

Only I am aware of what is about to happen tonight, Charlotte and the girls have absolutely no idea where I am taking them.

We finally arrive at the caravan. Lilly was the first to notice where we are, and Char was in her own world.

"Char look, we are finally here." I say quietly so that I don't wake up, ellie. Ellie is just like her mum when she's woken up. An absolute nightmare, I'd rather stick pins into my eyeballs than wake up one of them from a nap. It's a dangerous game.

"Mia, where are we???" Char asks, confused. I love it when she's all confused and clueless.

"Sweetheart were at the caravan. I booked it last night because I felt so bad about what happened between me and deliah. I wanted to make it up to you and o decided that it would be a good bonding experience for us and the girls too."

Ellie finally woke up, so we got out of the car and headed into our little caravan. I got the bags out of the car and handed them to Char so that she could unpack. I desperately wanted to help her, but I had a very important phone call to make, so I had to step outside.

I called marjorie to let her know that We are here and Charlotte is currently unpacking. Me and marjorie have never gotten along, but this was a chance for us to finally build a relationship, and I know that it would mean a lot to char if we got along.

Marjorie tells Mr. that her and reece are almost there, and they had booked the caravan next door to ours, so I would see their car pulling in.

I can't wait to see Charlotte's reaction when she sees marjorie and reece are going to be on this little holiday with us.

20 minutes pass and marj and reece finally arrive at the caravan. It was around 8 pm, so the kids' club would be starting any minute now. That's mostly the reason why I wanted the girls to be dressed up.

Char finishes unpacking, and I send marjorie a message to come over to our caravan. They walked straight in, and Charlotte's reaction was so much better than I thought it would be.

She runs straight over to marjorie and gives her a massive hug reece gets a very excited hello.

Once everyone calms down from the high there on, we take Lilly and ellie over to the kids club before heading over for our double date.

The kids club was only across the street from the kids' club, so I know the girls would be fine.

We get sat at a table with the window view, I was sat next to reece with Charlotte across from me, and marjorie sat with Char across from reece. We get to talking about random things and decide to order some food.

We ordered 2 pizzas and some chips to share. Me and marjorie go to the bar to get a bottle of wine that we can all devour.

Charlotte was just happy that everyone was getting along.

Marjorie leaves to go to the toilet so I go with her so that we can have a private chat without reece or char.

"I'm sorry about everything that has happened between us, I know we don't exactly have the best relationship in the world, but i feel like it's about time we get this sorted out. It would mean the absolute world to Charlotte if her best friend and girlfriend finally got along."

Marjorie agreed with everything that I said, and she pulled me in for a hug. I hugged her back and we stayed there like that for a few minutes just enjoying eachothers company.

While still in the hug, we hear somebody walk in, we think nothing of it and stay as we are, but marjorie pulls me in tighter.

It was charlotte who walked in. She was crying.

"Marjorie, Mia? What's going on? Why are you hugging? Why does marjorie look like she's about to cry?"

Charlotte was just asking loads of questions. I give her a kiss on the lips and leave her and marjorie to talk on their own, and I head back to the table because reece was on his own.

20 minutes pass, and marj and Char come back from the toilets. Marjorie winks at me, and Char gives me a comforting smile and mouths. Thanks again, you to me so that nobody can hear.

I lean over the table and kiss Charlotte. "Will you two get a fucking room." Reece says. Marjorie must have kicked him under the table because he apologized to us and marjorie gave him a knowing look.

I knew this was a good idea. Seeing char so happy meant the absolute world to me.

We ate our food and headed back to get the girls. Lilly jumped on to reeces back and ellie went straight to Marjorie so I took that as an opertunity to carry char on my back since she was getting tired anyways.

While char was on my back she was holding hands with marjorie. The girls were happy, char was happy and that's all that mattered to me.

As we arrive back to our caravan, I put the girls in their matching mickey mouse pj's that marjorie bought for them and put them in bed. Once they were asleep I went back to the master bedroom and helped char into her pj's.

Once Char was changed I got myself changed and joined Charlotte In bed.

Charlotte climbed on top of me and buried her head into my chest. I played with her hair untill she fell asleep.

"Thank you for everything mia, I love you so much." Charlitte mumbled barely awake.

"Your welcome sweetheart and I love you too, get some sleep because we have another busy day tommorow."

Char props up her head and gives me another kiss before we both fall asleep in eachothers arms.
