DAISY BLACKWOOD

I was in my living room with Rory and Aurora as usual. Rory was playing the dance video that she and her group prepared for the upcoming dance competition of the university.

She always shows us before making it final. We always want it to be a surprise but she insists and shows us the preparation anyway. In her defense, Aurora can pay attention to the small details and I can pay attention to the group movement better than the judges.

But not even once we needed to correct her. She is just naturally good at it. And when I say good I mean the best dancer in town.

The way her body moves with the music, her expression, her outfit, everything is just spot on. Anyone could watch her for hours when she dances. She doesn't just dance but she also vibes, making it look effortless and smooth.

But it's everything but effortless. She has incredible talent and skill as a hip hop dancer. She is not sure if she should pursue it as a career, that's why she is majoring in biology.

I told her many times that she should but according to her dancing brings her joy and happiness. It is special to her and having it as a career would just put pressure on her and eventually it would feel like a chore rather than passion. Which is pretty understandable.

Suddenly I heard Aurora cheering for Rory. The video ended?

I didn't notice at all but I joined Aurora as well. My mind was full with what has been happening in my life lately.

Especially the two incidents of three days ago. One is the way I talked to dad and the other one is about the psycho who broke into my house.

My gaze fell onto the door, against which he caged me.

"Dais-mais what are you clapping for? You didn't even watch the video." Rory said, catching me off guard. "What? I- I did." "Yea? What song was I dancing to?"

Shit.

"Umm, the new song of J Balvin?" I took a random guess, knowing full well I got caught red handed. "Ah sure. Now now, you better spill the reason why you were distracted or you gotta cook for me for the rest of the month."

Oh did I mention, the relationship between Rory and the kitchen is like fire and water? Gurlie went to boil water once and set the kitchen on fire and since then Damon never allowed her in the kitchen.

And she loves eating the food I make. Well lucky for her, I also like to feed people. It's my love language I would say.

"Yea Daisy, you have been pretty distracted from the past few days. And considering your life has drastically changed in the past couple of weeks, it's okay. But we are here for you, you know."

Aurora said and I took a deep breath. I don't immediately share something. I need time to process things first and then I share it and they know it. Which is why they haven't pushed me to say anything yet.

But it's too much now. I need to get it off my chest even though I am not completely over with the drastic changes of my life as Aurora described. Because these are not changes you get over with. These are changes you normalise over time and that time may never come.

I took a deep breath and told them everything that happened at the dinner with Rose and dad but not the thing after the dinner.

Even though I feel like it, I can't. Aurora may be my best friend but she is also Luca's sister. And I know it would hurt her if I tell the true story. After I told them about what happened at the dinner, both of them were speechless for a moment and Rory was the one to find her voice first.
