CHAPTER 24

DAISY BLACKWOOD

Cursing at myself I fixed my hair and grabbed my purse before making my way out. "Were you building the Burj Khalifa? What took you so long?" Rose said, looking annoyed as shit. "I-I couldn't find my jacket. Sorry."

After the 10 minutes drive we are finally here. I was more eager to see Rose's reaction. I have been here but she hasn't.

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the sky. The air was filled with laughter and chatter as people mingled around, enjoying the perfect dusk weather. The twinkling lights hanging around the trees and reflecting off the water added the perfect sprinkle to the atmosphere.

The soft music playing in the background set the perfect mood for the evening, as everyone danced and swayed to the beat. I knew almost all of them. Perks of living in the same neighbourhood. The smell of delicious food wafted through the air, coming from the different food stalls that lined the riverbank.

Thai food.

"That is beautiful." Rose said as I looked at her. "It is." We both smiled at each other.

"The stars of the show." Rory said as she made her way to us. She hugged me first and then Rose. They have interacted during the party. Luca came to me with a smile and wrapped his arm around my waist as he planted a soft kiss on my cheek. I smiled and hugged him back. Something doesn't feel right. Like I'm betraying him.

Just like that, hours passed and I didn't make a single eye contact with him.

Good.

Me and Rose were eating the freshly made cotton candy while talking. "So how long have you been with Luca?" "I have known him for more than five years but been in a relationship for almost a year now." She nodded.

"And you?" "Me?" "Have you ever been in a relationship?" She was silent for a few seconds but before she could answer, we were interrupted by Giulia. She looked furious. Her hair was flying due to the strong wind. It was almost the same length as mine. Her aquamarine eyes landed on Rose. "Have you seen Noah anywhere?" Automatically my eyes started looking for her brother in the crowd. I didn't see him.

Wait, where is Rory?

My heartbeat skipped as I made my way to Aaron and Luca. "Where is Rory?" Aaron looked around. "I don't know. She was here a few minutes ago." I looked around for Damon but couldn't find him as well.

"Yoo, there is a fight going on."

I heard someone saying. We were all moving in the direction before I could even process anything. My eyes widened at the view in front of me. Damon was holding Noah by his collar as blood dripped down from his lips. Beside them stood Rory, looking shocked more than ever.

"Damon, let him go. He wasn't doing anything." Rory said. "He was all over you and you expect me to just leave him?"

All over Rory? What the fuck.

Redness covered Rory's cheek. "We fell! He was helping me with the drinks." Noah was staring at Rory as well. There was a little smirk on his face. As if he knew Rory would defend him. And over all, he wasn't fighting Damon. So my worry wasn't him or Damon now. It's the person who can intensify this within seconds by using violence.

"What the actual..." Giulia made her way to her brother. She pushed Damon. He didn't move a single inch as he let Noah go. "What's wrong with you? Don't you siblings have anything better to do than hurting my brother." and finally his gaze met Giulia's.

Everyone made their way to them. Luca, Rose, Aaron, Hunter, Raven. Cal was about to go as well. Nothing about his gaze or the way he was approaching them said he wouldn't hurt someone. Someone as in my cousin, Damon.
