I skipped around the camp, giggling to myself. I wandered around, stealing food every once in a while, chatting with the other performers, whom had arrived a few hours after we'd arrived. They always stayed far behind us, lower ranked members in the mafia, but we all knew they were there to keep an eye on us. That's how the leader found out about Mary breaking the rules. The rules she broke were the ones more related to not slacking off. Apparently, she had been sleeping the whole time in the past few missions. She also broke the rule of being rude to the other Top Five, aka me. So obviously, I had to kill her. I thought to myself, wondering who would be the one to replace her. I had my bets on a girl named Carlene, who was really good at tracking people. She'd been rising the ranks easily. As I skipped along, I saw Eric. He waved me over, to the tent we always gathered in, which was Tara's. I nodded with a smile. I walked over, normally for once, which never happens. I slipped into the tent, and saw none other than Carlene. I smirked, I had known it. I looked at Carlene,as it was our first time meeting in person. Her hair was long, down to her waist, but tied up in a ponytail, the sunlight peeking through the tent, making her dirty blond hair shine a bit. Her eyes were a dark brown, like bark on a tree. She wore a black, corseted shirt with a white undershirt and the sleeves were long, draping over her hands. Her pants were black, matching with her dark shoes. She stood around 5'11, much taller than me. She was pretty, to say the least. I waved and said "Helloooooo there! You're Carlene, right? Mary's replacement? Nice to have you on the team! I'm Circe, as you know."
"Yep, I am! I've heard of you for sure. You have multiple nicknames, the most common one being- on, there I go again, rambling! " she laughed, and I laughed with her. Oh what a fun person she was going to be! I looked at the whip at her hip. I knew it had two purposes, one for the beasts who misbehaved and...self defense. On her file, which I had read after being told to, it said she was a two-faced person, who seemed awkward and nice on the outside, but in reality she was a very serious, psychotic person who was also manipulative, saying that after she tracked someone on a mission, she'd trick them, lead them out to an alleyway, and do her thing. Boring, I thought. The best way to kill was to appear and then stab them, but not in lethal areas, so they can bleed out, and you can watch the light in their eyes vanish...such a pleasing thought. I had to stop myself from giggling aloud. "Welp, I'm going to go rest for a bit, ok? Oh, and Carlene, don't embarrass us in the show tonight, we can't have our cover blown! We've had to change the name of the circus way to many times!" And I walked away, my steps bouncy as I vanished out of the tent, and went back to my tent. I sighed, and went back in, completely ignoring the torn up paper in it, and laid down on my bed, and prayed that I'd have no...encounters with Valia again. I really needed to sleep. And so, I shut my eyes, and fell into a dark, dreamless sleep....
Meanwhile, with Carlene...
"Ugh, I already don't like that "Circe." She said, while sitting in a different tent, a brown and black one. There were multiple beasts in it, and screeching birds. Carlene grunted and threw a rock and said "Shut it you stupid bird!" And then she picked up a yellow folder, to look at each of the members files. First, she looked at Tara's.

Carlene's eyes went from narrowed to wide as she read the part about Circe killing the ones who didn't follow the rules. She hit her lip, and it bled slightly. It had just dawned on her on what had happened to the previous member before her...so it was Circe who had done it. She whispered some things to herself "I better stay out of her way....as much as I want to squash her like a bug, I don't want to end up like the "Mary Fresen" before me." And she shut the folder, and grabbed her phone, calling someone. "Hey boss, I got the info on the top five. We can continue with the plan-" she was cut off, as someone giggled outside, and it was a figure of a small girl, around five two, with the shadow of a top hat atop her head. The curtain opened, and I stepped in. "Awe, why'd you stop? Keep going, Carlene?" I smile, tilting my head, a knife in my hand. I didn't think I'd be killing two members of the top five in just a few days....how....bothersome and unappealing to a...what was the quote? Ah, right
