After a half and hour, I am skipping my way around the grounds, heading to a certain someones tent. I peek in, and see Tara sitting in a chair, staring at me, and I jump, and laugh.
"You knew I was coming! Intuitive as usual, to be expected of the person who's the second highest ranked in the mafia!" The tips of my mouth twitch, turning into a large grin, and then, I enter. I sit on the ground in front of her, and begin to speak
"You already know why I'm here, right Tara?" Tara would nod.
"Thanks, I'll probably be back in..let's say a week?" And, with that, I get up, and walk out of the tent. I hear a voice
"Wait, Circe." It's Tara. I tilt my head, waiting for her to speak again.
"Travel to Frayen City after, alright? The group that's been targeting us, you know? Their base is supposedly there."
I nod my head, and skip on out, heading to my tent. I arrive, and grab a bag, putting my pillow, blanket, and a few small lunches I had prepared much earlier. I sigh, and sit down. Tonight, I would leave...
Soon, night fell. Crickets were loud as ever, and the moon shone down on my pale skin. I wasn't alone as I exited. Each member of the mafia was outside, staring at me as I walked away, including Tara, Jack, Carlene, and Eric. I payed no mind. Fog had gathered, and I walked into it, the cool feeling of it hitting my skin. I walked into the forest, and everyone who had been gathered, went back to sleep.
I blinked, finding myself in...the same village again. "Grrreeeat, this was not going to be fun" I thought to myself, as I walked along. The buildings were burning, debris falling, and there were bodies everywhere. Some clawed at the ground, clinging to life. I walked past them. I didn't have my usual smile on my face. I felt nothing. Rain fell. My feet tapped on the ground, and I turned, walking to a small, run down shack. The door was a sheet, the walls were shaky. I entered, and found a mirror, and Valia. She was sitting, smirking as I looked myself in the mirror. It wasn't my normal reflection, but a young girl, with matted white hair, pale yet dull grey eyes, and tattered clothing. I held a knife in my hand. I sigh. I blinked, and the reflection returned to my usual outfit, and Valia had vanished. I walked around, and rain began to fall. It was...cold. But I shouldn't be able to feel a thing, since this was a dream. Then again, it was a miracle I hadn't woken up, since usually, when someone realizes their in a dream, the wake up. I didn't care though. I heard giggling, and turned to see three children running and laughing. One was a boy with black hair, but white peeked from the top of his head and the roots, and light grey eyes that matched the rain clouds above him. The other was Valia, and the last one was a boy with light blonde hair, and pale purple eyes. Then, adults appeared, throwing rocks at them, same with other kids like them. They all huddled together, running into an alleyway. I followed them. They all hid in the corner of the alleyway, and they were eating one small thing of moldy bread. They all finished, and lay next to each other, using a small blanket they had likely stolen to cover themselves. The scene switched after that, and it was horrifying. The bodies were back, adults and kids alike. There, in the alleyway, was the body of the blonde-haired boy, and in front of the body was Valia, holding a knife. The black haired boy stood behind, muttering something that I could barely hear
"M-Monster...M-Murderer...Killer!" His voice got louder, turning into a scream. Valia turned around, and whether it was the rain or tears, her face was soaked. Her eyes were red. Then, she pointed at me
"No, she's the monster." The boy turned to me, beginning to chant "Monster. Monster" And the girl joined in
"Monster, Monster, Monster!" I covered my ears, crying out "I'm not a monster! I'm not!" But they still chanted, walking towards me, and every time I thought they were gone, I opened my eyes, and they were in front of me again. I ran and ran, as far away as possible, and found myself on a hill. Suddenly, there was another figure in with them. It was the bloodied body of the blonde-haired boy, standing, his eyes all white. I didn't scream though, as I had seen far, far worse. I crouched, covering my ears, my eyes shut. I didn't want to hear...why. I heard one voice beside me, and saw Valia beside me, whispering "Monster..." I jumped backwards. "I'M NOT A MONSTER! I'M NOT I'M NOT!" I cried out. Valia spoke "Oh Circe, I thought you didn't feel emotions." She grinned, walking towards me, her hands behind her back. I spoke "I don't. Not in the real world. But here, here I am forced to feel the things I never want to." Valia smirks "Are you sure that's the truth? Don't you feel regret when you take the life of another?" I shake my head, and she giggles, her laugh high-pitched. "Sure, Circe, keep telling yourself that..." She took a step towards me. Scenes of before flashed through my head. My eyes widen, and hot, wet tears fall down my face. I wipe them away. "I don't feel anything anymore. This is just you doing something. It has to be. Listen close, Valia." I say, my tone going cold, and she tilts her head. I open my mouth, and talk "I don't feel pain. I don't feel emotions. I feel nothing. I lost all of those kind of things 5 years ago. Learn that. I don't feel. Simple as that." I look at her, and her lips twitch into a crazed smile. "Sure..." And then, I blink, and find myself on the ground, my blanket over me with my pillow. My face is wet with rain....I think so anyways. The sun shines down, and I sit up. I put my usual smile back on. I change back into my dress, and put my little top hat on. I grab my bag, and continue walking. That had been nothing more than a dream. A dream was all that was. But Valia's words rang around in my head, and I had to sit down, and the scenes of the dream flashed through my mind again. I muttered to myself.
"What are these...things so unknown to me?"
