I could only think of one thing. Murdering every last man in this town. I knew that all the woman and children were safe. After all, even though I am an assassin, I'd never hurt someone so innocent like that, as that is just plain cruel, isn't it? I don't know why I was thinking this, as I quickened my pace towards this "Fish." I blinked, and he vanished. Whatever. He'd be one of the last ones to die. I walked around the town slowly, souls beginning to stir. I went into the first house I saw, a knife in hand. This was going to be so lovely...and fun! I'd get to kill disgusting pigs whom dared to call themselves men. I opened the door, and saw a man at a table, looking for his "wife." He saw me and said
"Who are you, brat?"
I smirked.
"Just a girl with a knife, piece of crap." The rage on the man's face appeared in an instant.
"HOW DARE YOU, YOU LITTLE WENCH! KNOW YOUR PLACE!" He stormed over. I grin. Classic move. He raised his hand, to slap me most likely. I simply stretched my arm, and the knife went into his chest. The blood began to drip out. He coughed, blood coming out of his mouth. He dropped to the floor. I smiled. He was dead. One filthy animal down, 45 to go. I had gathered intel on each and every man there, of course. I laughed, knowing Tara was regretting getting me that intel right now. I hummed, skipping through the road. Men began to exit their homes, and seeing me with blood, they were already angry. They ran at me, shouting insults and all. I widened my eyes, and laughed, throwing my knives. They were inches away before I stabbed them in the forehead. The blood splattered onto my face, dripping down, and my vision became slightly blurry with a red tint to it. I didn't blink though, pulling out reinforced bottles that had acid in them, and throwing them at their faces, and I watched them fall to the ground as their faces burned. This was fun! So much fun... I think. I felt something hot and wet coming from my eyes, but I thought it was just blood. The men began to run away, their faces pale with terror. Blood, so much blood! Fun, so fun! These thoughts raced through my head as I ran at them all, swinging my knives and "accidentally" losing my grip, causing some to fly into the back to their heads, and blood spurted out. I hummed, but burst into a fit of giggles. Those pieces of crap were getting a lesson! Now, I wonder where the rats who were hiding were... I saw a flash of black. There! I chased them, catching up real quick, and threw a bottle of acid, and they fell, falling off the roof they had been on, and I checked. Not the man from before. He was probably gone. Oh well.
"Oh Circe, why?"
I flinch a bit at the voice in my head. Valia. I shook my head, my vision still red with the blood. I saw more of the men in cloaks, and I chased them all, tossing knives and acid, but not one of them were the man from before. I let out a sigh. I entered a house to see if there were any survivors, and found a mirror. I looked at myself, because I could. My white hair had stains of blood on it. There was blood splattered on my face, and weird water coming from my eyes. Tears, probably from the blood stinging my eyes. My once white outfit had blood seeping through, going onto my skin. I smiled, my eyes wide. I heard a light tapping sound. Footsteps? No, it wasn't. I looked outside, seeing rain begin to fall. Then, the same voice rang in my head.
"Monster" she said. "Freak, murderer, lost cause" Valia whispered. I looked in the mirror, not seeing myself, but the same, pitiful girl, standing in a dirty dress, holding a stuffed animal. She cried
"MONSTER!" I blinked, and it was my reflection again. I felt a..burning in my stomach. Weird, had I swallowed acid? My head felt weird, I wanted to kill her. Then again, it was just my usual feeling towards her..right? I shrugged, humming as I exited the house. I saw a familiar face, and smiling, waving
"Oh heeeeeeey Tara! How's it going?" Her eyes widened slightly as she saw me and what state I was in. She called out
"Circe, damn it! Learn to control yourself!"
I tried not to falter. "But it was bad people I killed! Riiiight Tara?" I said, and Tara scowled
"They WEREN'T apart of the mission, but it's too late now. Come on, let's get you cleaned up. You ended up killing the target in your mad rush so the missions done." She said. She was clearly mad, but even she knew it wasn't the best idea to try and annoy me. But then again, how could I be annoyed? It wasn't like I felt these things were all call "emotions" anyways...A few hours later, I was all clean. Blood gone, clothes all clean and everything. I put on my necklace, the one which I kept hidden beneath the collar of my outfit. It was a small jar, and it had ashes in it. I checked myself out in the mirror, and then exited my tent. I could practically feel the tension in the air as some of the lower ranked members of our mafia gasp and scurry away at the sight of me. That's normal, it'd probably take them a week to calm down. It was fair since I had gone on a murder spree, laughing like I was on a vacation, but I didn't understand why that was such a bad thing! Bad people should die, right? It's not like I killed innocent people or anything. I skipped along, humming "Here comes hell." I saw Eric, and he approached me like it was a normal day, saying "Heya Circe! Get all the blood out of your hair? I know how hard it is to get out." He gave me his usual smile. "Yep! It somehow did come out." I laughed, and he laughed with me. He handed me a newspaper
"You made the front page!" He said. Well, now I HAD to read it. It read
"Entire male population of our town murdered, circus actors ran into the town, and in the blink of an eye, all woman and children were out. A few hours later, the streets were littered with the bodies of dead men. To no one's surprise, not one woman was sad. The horrible tradition of this town is gone!" I smiled. I had to seem happy. Then, I read the headline. "It's a Fortune In Disguise Of A Tragedy!"
