An Abandoned Time, Now Resurfaced.

I blinked, and I was staring into Eric's eyes, and he was a bit disoriented, like I was. While he was watching the memories, I was as well, or well, more reliving it. Not exactly the best experience, then again Valia made me relive it a lot, just not that exact scene, where she'd put Fins body in a alleyway, not on top of the hill with the tall oak tree. She confused me sometimes, but then again, she was me, and I confused a lot of people. I shook my head slightly, blinking my eyes as I realized that me and Eric had both fallen asleep, so we were both lying against the rock and....my head was on his shoulder. Realizing this, I immediately sat up. Weird, why'd I react like that? Well, it didn't really matter. Eric had done the same as me, and we just sat in silence for a minute, before Eric turned to me, and wrapped his arms around me, and it caught me off guard. What was this? It couldn't be for attacking or anything, and it felt so...nice.
"What are you doing?"
I asked, and Eric kept his arms around me and answered
"Something you very much need, not as much as therapy but still something you need, and it's called a hug. I am very, very sorry something like that happened to you. Oh Circe, I see why you didn't want me to see into your memories before..."
He kept hugging me, and for some reason, the wet liquid stuff came from my eyes. They were called "tears" I think. I didn't understand why I was doing the thing called crying, and I wrapped my arms around him, doing the exact same as him, and I felt that feeling again, the mix of emotions. Relief, sadness, and a bit of...what was it called, joy? I cried, and he hugged me as O repeatedly said
"I'm not fine"
After the multiple times I have said I was fine, whether after a mission or a "leave," this was the hardest to say. I slowly pulled away from Eric, and I saw he'd been crying too, but I didn't want to question it. I took in a shaky breath, regaining my composure as I had been forced to many times before.
"Hey, Circe, can I ask something?"
When I nodded, he breathed in and said
"I saw you break your fingers, and they looked a lot worse than normal breaks. Are your hands...ok?"
This I was kind of expecting. I lifted my hand, which had a glove on it. It was never really noticed since, well who'd be looking at my hands? They'd be more looking at the knives I was throwing. But, as I lifted it, I also pulled off the white glove I had on that covered it, and instead of there being a ring and pointed finger, it was replaced by metal prosthetic's.
"The break was bad enough that they'd never be fixed, so I had to get them...removed"
Eric's eyes widened even more. There was one thing the mafia never had, and that was anesthesia. Any time a surgery was done...the person was fully conscious. Eric opened his mouth, but I interrupted him
"No apologizing for me. You have had similar situations when you got shot and had to have surgery still"
He fake whistled and looked away, and before I could stop myself, I...laughed. I didn't have my emotions back completly, after all they were still just tiny fractions, but still, it was nice to laugh again. But, there was still things Eric had to know.
"There's still more, Eric. More I want you to see."
He stopped laughing as well, his expression getting serious again, and he nodded, and reached out, putting his fingers on my forehead, and we returned to the world of my memories...

It was a dark space, with a second floor able to be seen, with the railing and all. There was a cough and coffee table in the middle, and a few other things for decorating the area. I walked in, my footsteps silent.
"Ah, just the person I was looking for"
A deep voice said, and a figure appeared from the darkness.
"Hello, Father"
I said, like it was normal. Well, it was since he told me to call him father when no one else was around, so I did.
"We are going to have a new addition to the mafia, and he's...more special then the other low ranked members"
I didn't know why he told me this, but, I put on a grin to make me seem like how I was supposed to be and said
"Well that's amazing Father! When can I meet him?"
He chuckled, and spoke again
"Right now, in fact. Come out, Jack"
That name was not the one I expected to hear. There were quiet, but still able to be heard, footsteps. Amateur. I looked, and saw white hair, the same as mine, eyes as light and grey like mine, though they seemed brighter than mine, more...full of life. He wore a black, long-sleeved shirt, and deep navy blue jeans, with shiny black shoes. I recognized that face far too well.
"Hello! Nice to meet you, what was your name, Jack?"
I said. I had to pretend I didn't know him. Well, I didn't. I stopped knowing him the day our dear friend died. His eyes widened at the sight of me, but I quickly removed my smile, as if to tell him to not even try, and then put a smile on my face again, but before he could speak, father did
"Now now Circe, I know you don't particularly like him, but he is your twin brother, so you should try and get along, don't you think?"
I had to do what father said. He was stronger than I was, after all.
"Why of course, sir. Sorry for acting like that Jack! Been a long time, hasn't it? What's it been, like two years? It was my birthday the day we left each other behind, so yeah it's been nearly exactly two years! So lovely to see you again"
I added more of a...murderous tone to the lovely part, just to scare him. I also dropped the "father' thing, since Jack was here. Not like I actually cared or anything. I lost the ability to feel emotion the day I came home with father. I then took my leave, exiting the room without a sound. I walked the hallways, and then saw Eric. I fake smiled, and ran up to him
"Hey Eric! Wanna pull a prank on one of the lower ranks again? How about putting the hair removing stuff in a shampoo bottle?"
He laughed and said
"Sure, why not?"
We skipped along the hallways, off to pull our next prank. This was my life. Pranking people with Eric, assassinating the problem of the underworld, not going anywhere. Life was great, or well, it of course seemed like that on the surface, even though I didn't truly feel any emotions. That was how my life had been for the past two years, and I'd want it to stay that way. But it never could, not now that Jack was here, because I know that as I ran down the hallways with Eric, he had been watching, and I heard him mutter the word
"Monster"
I didn't care though. I'd left him and that life behind. Though, it was an abandoned life, now resurfaced, I would force it to be abandoned again. Just like how Jack abandoned me.
