Maria's POV

"A perfect evening gown."

After saying this, I snapped my fingers, and my assistant Ashley immediately wheeled in an exquisite and dazzling evening gown.

"This dress was originally intended for me to wear to Prince Louis's ball, but I've changed my mind now."

I smiled at Cathy.

Her guarded expression melted away completely upon seeing the dazzling silver evening gown, replaced only by envy.

"Are you, are you saying you want to give this dress to me?" Cathy blinked, her words stuttering, "But I don't even know your name."

This d.amn foolish girl!

I cursed silently in my mind, but maintained a smile on my face, calmly introducing myself to her.

"I'm Maria, Liam's wife."

"Oh! So you're the wife of the prince!" Cathy's eyes widened, "I'm really sorry, I, I didn't..."I waved my hand, suppressing my impatience and putting on a smile.

"It's fine. I've always kept a low profile, so it's normal for people not to recognize me since I rarely interact with the media."

"Your father is the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, right? Then you'll probably also attend the prince's ball. As a young girl, I think you could use this gown."

"Really? Thank you so much, Maria!"

"I've heard that Prince Liam's mate is a charming beauty, but I didn't expect you to be so kind-hearted, willing to help a helpless girl like me."

Cathy looked at me gratefully, her eyes filled with tears and gratitude that even made me feel disgusted.

"It's just a dress. Besides, your Blue Moon Pack has always been loyal to the royal family, so consider it a gesture from me." I said with a smile.

"I'll convey your words to my father. I believe he'll be touched by your kindness and generosity. But... You mentioned Claire just now. Did she offend you?" Cathy's curious expression also carried a hint of schadenfreude.

It seems their relationship as sisters is indeed quite poor.

I chuckled inwardly. "Of course not."

I smiled even wider at Cathy.

"Claire is now Prince Louis's date. As a member of the royal family, I also like her very much. However, I heard rumors that Claire seems to have fallen out with her family. You know, we royals always attach great importance to family harmony, so I hope that through this ball, you two sisters can reconcile, don't you think, Cathy?"

Cathy's mouth twitched, but she quickly suppressed contempt and disdain in her expression, forcing a fake smile.

"Of course. Our Blue Moon Pack has always valued family. Moreover, I've always been concerned about my sister, especially since she hasn't come back since that argument with my father.""She had an argument with your father?" I gasped, pretending to be surprised. "What happened?"

"It was about my fiancé, Joe."

Cathy lowered her head, her tone filled with sadness and regret.

"Since we were young, Claire has always liked to imitate me, even steal my things. And because she's my sister and lost her mother at a young age, I've always tolerated her. But what I didn't expect was that my concessions only fueled her audacity. Later, she even tried to take my fiancé, Joe, away from me!"

"OMG! What happened next?"

"Unfortunately, Joe and I deeply love each other, so Claire didn't succeed. But it only made her angrier."

Cathy wiped away the tears in her eyes, choking back her emotions as she continued.

"At Claire's instigation out of jealousy, she went to our father and proposed the idea of marrying Joe, but she was severely reprimanded by our father. So, in a fit of anger, Claire had a big fight with our father and ran away from home."

"I'm sorry to hear that." I patted Cathy's shoulder. "What about your fiancé? Did Claire contact him afterward?"

"He, he..."

Cathy's eyes darted around, her voice becoming muffled, "After Claire left, Joe and I had a big argument and broke up."

"Oh." I couldn't help but internally mock Cathy's poor lies and acting skills. But to achieve my goal, I had to go along with her and continue the conversation.

"So, do you have a suitable date now? I mean, you'll need one for the ball."

"Well... um..."

Cathy's eyes began to panic once again.

Obviously, this foolish girl hadn't even considered this question before I asked it.

This almost made me lose my patience.

"I have a friend who happens to need a beautiful companion."

I held Cathy's hand, gently patting the back of her hand. "It would be wonderful if you could agree to be his companion."

Cathy, ecstatic, squeezed my hand back. "Of course! No, I mean, it's my honor, Maria!"

From her enthusiastic gaze, it was clear that, in her eyes, there was hardly any difference between me and the moon goddess.

As I spoke, I withdrew my hand, "Great. Then at the ball, I'll arrange for you to meet Claire. Hopefully, you two sisters can have a good chat."

I paused for a moment, smiling slyly, "After all, you're still family, aren't you?"
