Maria's POV

I lifted the blanket and bent down to pick up the clothes scattered on the floor. But just as my fingers touched the nightgown, the man behind me suddenly wrapped his strong arm around my waist, pulling me into a warm embrace.

"So, you're leaving so soon?"

"The one leaving isn't me, Andy, it's you. Remember, this is my home."

I coldly pushed Andy's arm away, turning around to meet his eyes filled with frustration. "Did you remember everything I told you just now?"

"Of course, my dear Princess," Andy replied with a hint of sarcasm, clearly displeased. "What task have you given me that I haven't fulfilled?"

I rolled my eyes at Andy. "Do I need to remind you of the last time with the Gambino girl? You certainly showed her quite a bit of attention."

As soon as I mentioned the last ball, Andy's tone turned even more resentful.

"I'm willing to give everything for you, Maria! But that doesn't mean you can push me towards other women! After all this time together, don't you have any love for me?"

Love?

Looking at Andy's pathetic gaze, I couldn't help but curse him silently.

He should consider himself lucky to have my body, yet he still desires my love?

What an i.diot!

"Of course, I genuinely care for you, dear Andy."

Suppressing the urge to vomit, I cupped Andy's face in my hands and kissed his sensual lips. "But you know how difficult my situation is now! Prince Liam is dead, and my position has plummeted. When Louis becomes king, Chris and I will probably become invisible in the royal family! By then, we might live worse off than commoners!"

"But I can take care of you!"

My reassurance gave Andy a glimmer of hope. He held my hand, his eyes filled with affection, almost giving me goosebumps.

"My father left his inheritance to me. We can take Chris and leave this place, start anew somewhere else. What do you think of Scandinavia?"

"Scandinavia? It's too cold."

I raised my voice, withdrew my hand with disdain, and snorted.

"I am the future Luna; how could I go to such a place?"

Andy's gaze dimmed instantly. He frowned, scrutinizing my expression, and asked, "Don't you want to be with me? Or is marrying Prince Louis your true desire?"

Of course, that's my desire! Otherwise, would I marry you, a destitute noble?

A sarcastic voice echoed in my mind. But considering this man still has some use, I had to patiently continue to appease him.

"Of course not, darling. Haven't we agreed? With Evans's help now, once my Chris inherits the throne, we'll arrange for Prince Louis to meet with an unfortunate accident like his brother. Then the entire kingdom will be ours! Why would we need Scandinavia? But all this depends on me marrying Prince Louis now and becoming the Luna of the kingdom. This way, my Chris can become the legitimate heir."

I wrapped my arm around Andy's neck, whispering ambiguously in his ear.

"To achieve our goals, we've done so much. Now, all we need to do is steal that forged letter back from that wretched Claire. We've come this far; it would be such a waste to give up now, wouldn't it?"

"Alright."

Once again, foolish Andy was persuaded by me. He grabbed my fingers and planted a kiss on the back of my hand.

"I'll do anything you want. I'll steal the letter."

"Thank you, dear."

Satisfied with his response, I nonchalantly slipped out of Andy's embrace, eager to put on my clothes.

"By the way, about that girl Cathy from last time."

As I ran my fingers through my slightly disheveled hair, I curiously asked Andy behind me, "How did you get rid of her?"

"I gave her a bracelet," Andy smirked wickedly, "I mixed something interesting inside."

"What did you mix in?"

"You know," Andy shrugged indifferently, moving behind me and affectionately resting his chin on my shoulder, "that kind of powder that can induce illusions. Not lethal, but enough to teach her a lesson, so she..."

Smack!

A loud slap interrupted Andy's smug tone.

I glared at Andy with exasperation, cursing uncontrollably.

"Who gave you the authority?! Huh? That kind of powder can only be obtained from the southern forest. And you used it on a harmless woman?"

"But I just..."

"Shut up, i.diot!"

Rolling my eyes, I mercilessly berated Andy, "Do you know how much I sacrificed last time to halt Louis's investigation? I paid twenty million just to get Evans to agree to use his brother as a scapegoat for me! I went to great lengths to cut off leads in the prison! And you so carelessly brought it straight into the castle. Are you trying to kill me?"

"I'm sorry, Maria, I didn't know..."

Finally panicked, Andy grabbed my sleeve and knelt on the ground, begging for mercy.

"I swear to you, Maria, I only used a small amount, there won't be any problem! Besides, didn't that girl end up being detained by Louis later? Maybe she's already dead at Louis's hands..."

"I.diot!"

I coldly kicked Andy away, putting on my clothes. Before leaving the bedroom, I left behind a chilling warning. "You can start praying to the gods for her death now, Andy. Otherwise, someone will pay the price for this."
