Claire's POV

"Hey, can you go check on Claire for me... Oh, Claire, you're finally back." Penny had just opened the door for me, and Louis was already striding towards me.

"Why did it take you so long? Is everything okay? Hmm?"

"I... " Instinctively, I wanted to hide what just happened. After all, as the prince's mate, I should be more careful about my actions, not getting into fights with my stepsister in public.

"Tell me, Claire." Louis gripped my hands tightly, his gaze sincere. His warmth gave me courage."I just ran into my stepsister, Cathy." I paused, trying to sound casual. "You know, we've never gotten along."

"She?! Did she do something to you?" Louis narrowed his eyes, a dangerous aura emanating from him.

"Just a few nasty words. Compared to what she used to do, it's nothing to me now."

"Nasty words?" Louis's face darkened completely, emitting a dangerous vibe.

"You're my mate! You're the future Luna! Even if she didn't greet you properly, I could arrest her for disrespecting the royalty!"

"Where is she now?! Hunter, bring that despicable woman to me!"

"Yes, Your Highness." Louis's bodyguard emerged from the corner, bowing to him. But I stopped him.

"Don't do that, Louis." I grabbed his arm, calming his anger. "Cathy, like her mother, is just a clown. She's not worth your anger."

Louis shook his head at me. "But anyone who harms you needs to pay the price, Claire. That's my rule."

"Well... I've already dealt with it myself." I smirked. "Don't forget, I've learned self-defense with Hawk. Cathy's arm probably still hurts."

Louis's expression softened a bit at that.

"She should count herself lucky I wasn't there with you." He playfully tapped my nose. "Otherwise, she'd be saying goodbye to her arms!"

"Not here, Louis." I frowned, thinking of the bloody scene. "It'll ruin the evening you've prepared for me! Besides... Although I don't like Cathy and her mother, they're still members of the Blue Moon Pack. They have to attend your ball—"

"That's not a problem, Claire. If you don't want to see them, I can order them banned from the party, even any future social occasions."

Louis's face displayed contempt and arrogance fitting of a prince. "The lowly illegitimate daughter and her adulterous mother are not worthy of my banquet!"

"No! Louis! Although I understand your good intentions, I don't want you to do that.""Hmm?"

I looked into Louis's eyes, paused, and continued.

"This ball carries significant political importance. After all, it is for all packs to witness their future king. Cathy and her mother may not be important, but as the Alpha's family of the Blue Moon Pack, they must attend to express loyalty to you. That's the key."

After saying this, I raised my head, meeting Louis's gaze.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I'm looking at the future queen."

Louis's smile became meaningful. "You're becoming more like a queen."

I blushed and looked down. "There's still a lot I need to learn."

"That's true."

Louis took a step back, scrutinizing me from head to toe. "If you're going to the ball, you're missing something."

Nervously, I gripped my dress. "What?"

Louis shook his head. "Turn around, Claire, let me double-check."

Anxiously, I obeyed, turning my back to him. I felt his presence behind me.

"A beautiful and elegant Luna can't be without this." With a magnetic yet low voice in my ears, a cold touch fell on my chest.

Before I could lower my head, the dazzling diamond had already caught my eye. I raised my hand, feeling the massive diamond on my chest, stunned in place.

Louis looked at me with satisfaction. "Now, everything is perfect."

"Look in the mirror, Claire! You look stunning, my dear mate."

I lifted my eyes, dumbfounded, looking at the mirror.

Louis had chosen a blue diamond necklace, perfectly matching my light blue evening dress.

In the center of this necklace was a rare and perfectly cut heart-shaped blue diamond. It looked at least fifty carats! Surrounding it were many transparent white diamonds, making the necklace even more dazzling and eye-catching.

Such a beautiful piece of jewelry, I had only seen it in my dreams. But now, it quietly nestled against my ample chest, becoming a part of my beauty.

"Louis..."

"This is the necklace my mother left me." Louis's gaze fixed on the heart-shaped blue diamond. "When I was in pain because of Maria, my mother gave me this diamond. She told me this blue diamond had witnessed her and my father's love. She hoped this beautiful love would come into my life with it."

"Since the moment you appeared, this blue diamond flashed through my mind. From then on, I planned to have it carved into a heart shape and give it to you."

"Because you're my fated mate."

I choked up, tears welling in my eyes. "Louis..."

However, before I could express my gratitude and confession to Louis, an untimely voice interrupted me."Hey, Louis, what a coincidence, you're here too."
